Hey guys ive been signed up for awhile here and still yet to post a thread on my car.
so i started off with a vg ute on my l's and eventually its started to deteriate after awhile
so i decided to hunt around for a daily to take the ute off the road when i stumbled across
this vn.
i paid $3500 for the vn which is most likely abit expensive but i really liked the car it had all
the service history a old read out on the vn ls. For awhile it stayed stock as i wanted to do
my ute up then i realised i liked this vn and enjoyed driving it way more so then abit of spending
started (not much being a apprentice fitter and turner)
i started off with just some speakers and a head deck because it already had 4 10" kicker
subs in the boot. then eventually i picked up a new amp and a few small things like seat covers.
anyways to stop boring use ill put the specs up.
ENGINE
Stock 3.8 buick (from what i know)
just a 2.5" catback and a cai
GEARBOX
TURBO 700
DIFF
Standard worn out lsd
CAR
The car is a Hsv vn ls which got resprayed in original colours (astroid silver down bottom and atlas grey up top)
I sourced some VY SS rims cheap with tyres
I had the 2nd darkest tint on it and also lowered it a tad at the back ( was lowered before i got it)
also but new boge shocks all around under it.
FUTURE MODS
Engine rebuilt with mild head porting and a cam and evetually a turbo kit bought from pro flow
Gearbox will be getting rebuilt and beefed up soon as i source a spare box
Some paint needs touching up and pin striping redone
get fog lights hooked up and general tidying up
i can only find pics before tint and lowered
just bought a original letterbox grill that should be on it and also a hsv badge which should be on the bonnet and wasnt.
Thats so nice wheels suit well rare find.
Very Nice, Normally later model Commodore wheels look naff on VN's, but they really suit it.....

Looks great.. Is that a st80 boot lip or is that how it comes? Nice find too
Its the original lip. There isnt much un original on the exterior but the grill and a badge.
Currently seeking some simmons fr's for the right price
FYI
My LS didn't have a badge on the bonnet. It has the letter box grill and the LS decals on the front qtr panels and rear section on the wing.

On my read out from hsv says it has a hsv badge above grill on the bonnet
Mine never had one. It was a 1991 model.
Then again, mine didn't have the red pin stripe like yours either so it may have been buyer requests to add or remove them

im not sure if the pinstripe is original it also has a silver pin stripe with the red and it goes black and red on bumpers.
on another note i found a crack in my radiator today and because im looking at the forced induction route i was looking
at aluminum radiators on ebay just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the cheaper one's around the $200 mark?
well i bought the radiator through the week got home friday night and fitted it up. fits up good no leaks.
picked up a nitrous kit last year for a small price so thinking i might have a play with that abit later on.
and im still working out if to try a l67 conversion or just get a motor from the wreckers and put a raptor on it.
