My VN and all the crap advice!!!

Heres my car ... my second holden. first one was a V8 that was fully modified by Bathurst... this one I am doing myself (and yes Im a chick!!)
So far
Lowered front on HSV struts, springs shocks etc. (fe2)
Smaller link kits
aftermarket sway bar
2 x 15" subs in the boot and new 6x9s in the rear. FUSION
Sports exhaust fitted.
K & N air filter (man that made a difference)
VS supercharged cold air intake fitted
New monroe shocks
9mm eagle leads and plugs


Got a bored out throttle body coming. Will get that fitted next week!!

Was told to go a big bore 3 inch... saw my muffler man he said thats too much out put for a v6. he said to go extractors/headers and it will increast boost and fuel economy. Then I was told that headers/extractors only give about a 2kw increase in power, so that may be one of the last things I do

get a performance chip and if your into ebay there a couple of good ones on there thats where i got mine

dont bother with a perfomance chip, when you get your exhaust and headers (not sure about vn v6s but vz cant be remapped) Get a piggyback memcal ecu that will just go ontop of your existing ecu(computer) so you can switch from perfomance to stock computer settings- make the most out of your full new exhaust.

there are performance chip for the vn/vp that claim 147+kws when used with a cold air and full exhaust system on ebay from a well known seller for $159

unfortunately for you misslisa they dont deliver to nz

Just took it off the back and super glued it to under the stereo... like to keep people guessing what my car is!! got my cold air intake ordered off ebay today!! YAY! dont know how long to send to nz. Pricing up some headers next. Car is already lowered, will kit it and mags at the end... (after the alarm and kill switch ar put in!)

i would recommend 2.25" FOR A VN and extracotors, single high flo lukey muffler, high flow cat and a nice stainless vt ss tip 2 finish off the job nicely,

Nice set of 17" Rollers would look nice also.

misslisa,personal opinion, but i'd rather have no badges or rear window sunguard and the mud guards gone. but if u like them keep them.

by the way how much does a VN cost ya in New Zealand?
i'm a kiwi but i've been living here since 2002.

Ive taken the mud flaps off, the rear louvre once I get the tints, and my car has discoloured a bit and when I took off the executive badge you could still see it in a darker blue!! So it went back on.

Brought mine stock standard for $2200, got it valued at $3300 so far! Once I get it racing at Puke with a few sponsers, monster rims and bigger throttle body I think I might be around $4500 at the max!

You went from a V8 to a stocko VN V6? I dont see it lol. The VN's are getting on a bit now, my one alot of things let go in the year I had it. Water pump, radiator hoses, steering rack etc... Nice lookin car, hope all your mods work out. Just get a blower, you wont look back.

Pacemaker long primary extractors, down into 2 1/4 twin hi-flow catback system, 2 1/4" out of each hi-flow cat merge into a single magnaflow center muffler, then straight pipe after that, best VN V6 exhaust you'll ever hear and powerwise...

Next thing, Throttle body which you already did..

Someone suggested powerchip off ebay, Don't trust them off ebay there cheap rip off's with incorrect flow for spark advance. Get in contact with Greenfoam on this forum and tell him HoZy said you can do a "Titanium" Performance chip. You'll love it.

Stage 2 shift kit.. It's a definate, Get the band's in the gearbox re-alligned...

If it's a six get some 1:7:1 yella terra roller rockers, it'll change the compression ratio a bit and it'll love the exhaust system and chip

All these ideas are recommended 95RON fuel minium, as soon as you hit the chip...
