I've owned it for less than 1000km. There's now 163000km on the clock.
BT-1 pack delivered to NSW Police Feb 93. Prod. 12/92 Series 1.
This car is very original inside and out and I want to keep it that way. The only mods outside of factory spec I can see are the 16" wheels, Berlina type glass grille and the genuine Brock Venetian.
Has it got a 80L tank? yep definitely - tested that today - pumped in 69 litres on cool day, low fuel warning light hadn't come on -fuel gauge needle was all the way down to the last line/graduation in the gauge - so I thought the low fuel warning switch might be cactus or something and I did'nt want to go empty and burn out the tank pump --so I filled it.
Which rear end? Just looked - std not IRS.
What chip is in it? Std BAAM 0265.
Plate codes:
BT1 - National Police Package - Exec. [which consists of FE2, sump guard, extra oil cooler, 80L tank, interior trim extras (o'head map light, door pockets, no lid on centre consul), driver weathershield, chip (dunno which yet), interceptors/chaser rims, copper straps from body to hinged panels (such as doors, bonnet, boot to maintain earth circuit integrity), and maybe other stuff I've yet to discover.]
LG2 - Engine V6 3.8
FE2 - Suspension
C60 - Air Cond. Manual Cntl.
MD8 - Transmission 4 Speed Automatic
231 - Trim unknown code - does this refer to the plastic map pockets on the doors and the split dome light?
1F075 - Paint Maranello Red
GU4 - Diff ration 3.08
Sound system. Ahem, just the original turned down low. I like to hear an engine, I like to listen to the notes as the power band comes on. I like to listen to other guy to figure what he's running so I don't pick on something outta my league and look like an idiot. As a bonus I can also hear sirens and to move over for ambos.
Acc: A/C etc works like a charm. Very tidy interior just like it was factory fresh. Mint. Steering wheel is dumb looking but what the hell. Resprayed original colour in 2pack. Serviced as per book by one private owner (1994-2006!)
Its had the heater replaced. No welsh plug dramas and the oil is the colour of honey. Beautiful. The only thing I can see me doing is a Oxy sensor and band service for peace of mind.
The only other Commy I have owned was a VN 5L in 1994. Put 160,000km on it in 4 years.
