hi all this is my new project replacing my tired old vh i picked it up for $500
with rego till march next year (score) it is pretty straight as is with only a little bit of paint panel work needed so im off to a good start
unfortunatly the motor is f**ked so i will have to replace that b4 i can it lol but any way here are pics specs etc

yeah im puttin a 3.8 in it cause its cheaper easier and quicker to do as i need it asap

hi all


here is an update
im puttin a vr 3.8l 2 replace the dead vp 3.8 in it
which i picked up for $350 from the wreckers
it has 180,361 kms on it
and looks pretty clean (no oil leaks)
i have to swap from the old engine the following
harmonic balancer
injector rail
injectors
throttle boddy
alternator
starter motor
and a couple of sensors
it is gunna be one bastard of a job doin all this in 2 days but im determined to get it done
i bought these goodies for it
new rocker gaskets l+r
new sump gasket
leads (champion )
ngk plugs
oil
new filters(oil air fuel)
and im gettin it serviced as soon as i have it in the car so hopefully it should be all good and ill be mobile come sunday arvo
wish me luck will post pics of the car motor etc on monday

well here we are at the half way point of my little adventure into the world of 3.8l's
damn that was a hard day i just had
but i got the motor+ box out and all i have to do is get the parts swapped over and it all back together again
with 8 hrs to do it all in to

anyway ill let ya's know how i got on ill post sum pics as well

i got the motor in and runnin but now the gearbox is f**ked
i found that out on the test run when it would not tshift to 3rd/4th
apparently it is a common problem with t700's
caused by broken or poorly adjusted k/down cable

any way its goin in on monday to get fixed but it is only 1 of 4 or so problems

1. fuel guage isnt workin(broken sender unit)
2.fuel leak from where return line connects to tank
3. tabs that connect dash surround to dash broken and wont screw tight
4 no blinkers/hazzards (i think the flasher relay is broken)
5. wrong rubbers on the front swaybar
6. and front L wheel bearing is shot
also tacho sticks sumtimes
as well as power mirror switch playin up


any way enough whingin ill keep you all posted on progress

well it is goin

i ended up buyin a new box for it from the wreckers ($350)
and it is goin good atm i am still to get the gearbox serviced and i also have got most of the problems fixed i hav put my stereo in it and my vx ss rims will post pics soon

i will be goin on the cruise for charity this weekend in syd so if any of you are goin feel free to come over and say hi
i wont bite

also does any one have any ideas about a name for my car club i wanna start up it will be mostly commodores but i wanted sumthing that sounded cool but doesn't sound like i am tryin to hard


anyway pm me with ideas if you can think of any

well i also found out that the prev owner had crashed and bent all the inner guard and it was cheaper to replace the car
