Okay update....
today:
- got bosch 044 pump in the mail, it's like the size of a can of beanZ!
- welded up upper and lower trailing arm mounts (so they don't rip out of the floor under full powaAAaA)
- ripped out interior
- ripped out 1/2 the noise deadner.
tomorrow:
- clean/paint fuel tank and underneath car/boot
- remove rest of deadner
- if i have time do bushes, if not, i'llworry about it later
i allllllllso ordered a Lokka! it should be here in a week and a half or so! very excited.
pics attached
Cool! Sorry, but what are the trailing arms, what are their function and where are they located?

They are the arms that connect the diff housing to the floor of the car, when you run lots of power through the diff it can/will tear away from either the diff housing or the floor of the car. It's usually the first place that fails even on cars with leaf springs they will rip the mount off the diff
:O Thanks for that.Learn soemthing new every day! ^_^

whaaa
long time no update... so here goes:
since last pics i saw, i've:
- painted fuel tank, springs and control arms
- boxed in the upper rear control arms
- mounted surge tank and fuel pump
- removed all deadner
- painted floor in bitumen paint stuff
- installed b&m ratchet shifter
- changed door seals
- cleaned carpet
- replaced seat base of drivers seat with non-ripped one.
- put interior back in.
- ran battery cabling
i'm still waiting on lokka diff to arrive, when it does i'll send the whole diff away for recoing - do all bearings and seals and remove the colapsible spacer on the pinion (and replace with a solid one)
i'm also waiting on carpenter mate to box and carpet my boot in. (maybe this weekend?)
here's some picssss, i seem to have lost some garage spacei'm due for a mass cleanout, i'll try do that in the next few days.
Horray for rolling in and out of the shed again. I didn't think you would get all the dash and interior back together so fast, it looked pulled apart pretty good a few pictures ago
Yeah, sounds like you're making some progress!![]()

Hey I just found this thread today and I just want to say I think your doing an awesome job putting the build process up on here! You obviously have the determination and skill to go the distance and your making fantastic progress... keep up the good work!
Yeah, I can't wait to see this finished!
Theres some guy in a white VN that always drives past my place and around the area. It sounds like it's got an RB30 or something similar under the hood.

hey dudes
- I've done a garage cleanout, everything is spotless again
- the fuel tank is installed now, with an alloy plate around the filler neck to fix up what was damaged by the lpg installation...
- I've also done all the bushes in the ass end, all nolethane spec.
- Lokka has arrived! though I'll send the whole diff off to a diff man. Get new axle, pinion and carrier bearings, along with new axle seals. Also get the collapsible spacer on the pinion replaced with a solid one. And of course, get the lokka fitted. All in all the installation looks pretty simple, but they stress the importance of correct size clearances etc in the instructions, and I dont' have shims etc to space things out.
sooooooooo all that's left now is the engine and gearbox! (engine includes manifolds, injectors etc etc)...
I'll do all the wiring over the next week or so, and then start building the motor!
I also scored a new job, with a nifty pay rise, so hopefully we'll be seeing a bit more progress and some more shiny parts!
I'll post up pics soon!
WHoops. DOuble post.
