Yeah not keen on that style of chromie. 17" is too small for a chrome rim anyway imo. But other than that nice calais mate.
Any more info on this turbo setup and what you're aiming for power wise? Very interested in hearing more man !

Nice car mate. There were manual Calais VNs but very rare. VN Calais were the last Calais' to recieve manual gearbox from factory.

been spending alot of time chasing info on a decnt turbo set up and to start with i am only goin to run about 8 to 10psi on the stock engine until another rebuilt bottom end is completed (chasing up an acl race series rebuild kit as we speak). working on a set of custom manifolds atm. only goin2 run a t3/t4 with an internal wastegate (if i can find 1 to run 8/10psi) otherwise ill have to run an external. t not chasine huge hp to start with, just wanting to get the project underway and running then increase things from there. but for now im just sorting out exactly what im going to need that is going to work well together.

Actually VP were. There was a red VP Calais 5L with factory manual (only made 20 i think it was said) with over 350,000ks, and still wanted $15,000 for it.
Easy way to tell if a stock car is a factory manual (VN or VP) is it wont have cruise control. This car does, as does mine.
Agree with everyone else, change the wheels.
Turbo idea sounds good!
After you get the spool, i suggest you spend a few days learning it, like if you know someone with a farm you can thrash around on, as the car will drive completely different. Thats assuming you havn't driven a car with a locked diff before.

cheers guys. yeh the manual is so much better than the auto, was well worth thetime and effort. seriously thinking about gettin some different mags, chrome rims are just too hard to keep clean. leaning more towards a set of
18inch furys. gettin another car just for a runabout soon so i can pull it off the road and get the turbo install underway. ill keep you all updated.
