    Default VN executives ride.

    gday everyone.
just scored my first car for my 18th birthday, a VN executive series 2.
as you'll see its pretty clean, besides a small scratch where the car was previously hit in a carpark or something similar.

originally was owned by an old bloke, which explains the hubcaps and with about 280 thousand K's.

at the moment, its still getting ready for roadworthy, but so far all its needed is a driver side door seal, some bushes for the steering arms and a high pressure hose for the power steering.

eventually, when i get a job, it will be lowered with a decent set of rims and an exhaust system. i've already got a sony headunit for it and plan to get some good quality speakers, no sub for the time being.

here are some photo's. (excuse some of them as a tad blurry as they were taken on a camera phone). doesnt come up too bad with a wax too

    EDIT (24/2/07)

took some more pictures, better quality and actually outside of a shed!!

i have no idea how to edit or attach more thumbnails so if someone can let me know it would be good. for now it just has to be actual images on the screen so sorry if this lags!

    inside car -

this is where i decided to stick the amp, did all the carpetting etc myself. i think it come up alright :P

and here is the only damage on the car, previous owners fault.

    EDIT (11/3)

new pictures! got some night time pics tonight.

i like this pic.. dunno why.. can hardly see the car but ehh..

    some more..

Lucky bugger getting a VN for your 18th. Such a good car. After you fix the same problems most people have with the VN's they are a great mode of transport. Onya mate and enjoy.

    hey everyone

just an update, bushes have been replaced. handbrake tightened, leaks found (one coming from the gearbox, it was overfilled by the previous owner), all the oil has been cleaned from underneath and now it has a nice coat of tar paint under there to make it look schmik.

the high pressure hose has been replaced aswell. now its on the trailer ready to go to the mechanics for the roadworthy! w00t w00t!

should have it to myself within a week or so!

just an update for those that care..

got the car registered and insured tuesday, now its all mine.

i put my sony headunit in (which is a pain in the ass getting the stock sereo out), and changed the dash speakers to set of 4" 2 way's, sounds alright. i also got a sub and amp but havent bolted it down aywhere yet so its slow travelling around corners and such lol.

i plan to connect the amp to the back of the folddown armrest in the back (if anyone would advise me as to why this is a bad decision please do so before i go and mount it :P)

sub will sit in the boot somewhere, havent decided yet. gunna pull out parcell shelf as next job and add some 6x9's. any recommendations? i was just gunna get some 100 buck clarions or something. and also, where is the wire for the rear speakers? there is wires for it in the original stereo loom we just cant find the end.

    cheers people.

First I'll say that getting your first car is a special moment indeed. My first car wasn't nearly as good as yours so you've done well for yourself. Looks like a nice clean VN you've got there!

As for the stereo, I personally wouldn't put the amp on the fold down arm rest. But only because I'm so practical. You might want to use it one day! As for the 6X9's, I'm not a fan. If you're running a sub, they're overkill and will just over-power the fronts imo. A nice pair of co-axials will give you nice rear fill. They'll also have the benefit of going into the stock speaker locations for a nice stealth install. Kind of deters thieves from breaking into your pride and joy to knock off your stezza!

There wires for the stereo should already be there. If you really want to use the stock wiring, you'll have to pull up the door stripes on each side, and fine the right wires.

personally i think you should just get new wiring, as the old wiring would be dodgy and could cut in/out (as mine did)

The rear seat will have to be taken out if you are doing new wiring, but its easy enough.

thanks for your opinion mate. well i checked out the amp on the armsrest and it turns out the amp may be a fraction too big, but that was only a test, once its screwed in and positioned right i should be okay.

yeah thanks stealthy. i think ill go the option for completely new wiring.

and r_i_d_a_h, cheers mate, it does have alot of potential !!
