I got myself some new rims, I've been looking for these for a long time. Deep offset BMW Interceptor style wheels perfeeeect for a IRS VP. They weigh less than 5kgs and are made of alloy rather than steel . I hope to fit 235's on them, they should look very old school , I'm not sure if I will run them black or bead blasted or what yet but either way they will be cool

I spent this afternoon welding up a straight through 2.5 inch cat back (2.5 inch pipe into straight though 2.5 inch main muffler into straight through 2.5 inch hotdog, (Your not wrong, I think it will be a bit loud too:P ). I used bits from the wrecking yard but I ran out of welding wire with a couple of welds to go so the VPs stranded till tomorrow . Looks pretty budget (well the parts cost me 20 bucks after all ) but the flow should be muuuch better than the exhaust I had on it.

It will be interesting to see how I go to 60 mph with this before I get a proper exhaust, I think I will just buy a full twin system because I'm sick of welding old rusty thin pipes at the moment . The best thing about IRS cars by the way is that you can run the muffler REAL close to the tailshaft since the shaft and diff don't move anywhere

It didn't make the car much louder at idle and it still kinda sounds the same at big revs but it's deeper and louder at the higher revs. The car doesn't feel fast but maybe I'm just used to it?. I took off from the side of the highway before and it broke traction once it hit about 3000 revs, pretty badly really and was still a bit tail happy after the shift to 2nd, it wasn't able to break traction mid acceleration before (but I could feel it was ALMOST able to do that and a knew just a few more ks would push it past that point) so it must have gained some power somewhere

I'm in full preperation for this Fridays drags now
had a little test run tonight, ran 5.82 with my daily driver clogged up foam filter and 5.73 with the K&N I use at the drags still running the spare and jack and all the stuff I carry around so 5.6's are pretty much certain tomorrow. Also Airstrike the dark lord nemisis of mine thinks my spark plugs could be the key to my long time high speed miss, So I'll check that out tomorrow

Airstrike, I love my corvette servo :P it's so good *chirp* it wasn't a spark miss my vibration. It was a broken gearbox mount and things were getting wobbley and crazy on the top end!

Probably wont run a 1/4 mile while the car is near stock, there's no tracks near me and it's a bit too fast to g-tech one on the back roads these days so. But that's ok I can work it out to within .1 from running 1/8th miles and comparing it to other 5 litres

Horay!: ) I ran a 9.2 @ 76.5 mph tonight on the 1/8th mile. I think it was 9.241? I'll have to check later but I think the car might JUST sneak a 9.1 if the track gets grippier tomorrow it has the potential to do it when the conditions are perfect anyways

How come you want a new manifold? Surely it isn't a restriction yet with a internally sock engine?
kilowatts are like drugs, the more you get, the more you want.

It's not really a restriction as far as airflow goes but that's not the point with inlets. There's more power lost in the manifold than anything else in the efi 5 litre, by far. I want the peak torque higher in the rev range where I can use it and the peak hp to be higher up too. So I need shorter runners to achive that and I also want the plenum to be non heated and above the runners (that's also worth alot of power)

whats the gap on your plugs? i know it wasn't your problem in the end. they say there is a slight power/torque gain with the iridium tiped plugs (and i think there good for many more miles then standard plugs also) but i've never been keen to spend the amount of money to gain so little when normal plugs are so cheap. i guess if your skaife then every last little bit counts right. good to here you got that vibration problem sorted. waiting now for that 9.1 with your intake idea, i guess your going to end up with something similar to a grp A intake, tuned runner lenghts with a plenum on top. the walker manifold is similar i think, the standard bananas manifold with the top machined off and plenum on top but i suspect there runner lengths may be to short

My plugs are gapped at around 1.1mm (factory is 1mm but my ignition system is up to scratch). Jase's were set at a V6 friendly 1.5 or 1.6mm from memory.
