I see, I don't think Mack will be happy with a 14.6 he said he was going to burn it if it couldn't go under 14.5 . I thought it had a chance for a 14.4 well maybe he did get it under later in the day. Pumba how did you manage to go backwards? did you change back to the stock ratio diff?. I was pretty sure Macks car would be the quicker but I thought you would go like 14.5/6 and he would go 14.4, you guys still have alot of work to do get get near the old VP, mostly over the first 60 foot I'd guess but keep trying!

im sure his car would be quickr if he knew how to drive it.

youd think a gts with full twin exhaust and other goodies would wallop a stock 165 v8, maybe next time.

Woudnt have a clue what you'll run, but if I run what you said, im selling my car.

Thats what I wrote Foamie

I actually am happy with what I ran, 3x 14.6, 2x 14.7 and 1x 14.8. Ran 2 14.7's first up and so I tryed without the airbox at all, ran the 14.8, so that was a no goer. Put the CAI back on and Dropped PSI to 28 and ran 2x 14.6 and dropped again to 25 psi and ran another 14.6. My best reaction time was 0.483, I did try my best to stage up nicely. Stalling her up didnt really work that well, I think thats where I was most inconsistent. I had some good fun, taking to blokes from QC and ChipTorque, and the kool guy in the vette, gave me some tippies. The biggest disapointment was that Impulse SV6 ran a 14.3 and I didnt beat him But Im happy how the car went, no problems, no leaks, consistent times.

Highest MPH was 96, but ran a 14.7 :S
Fastest 60ft time was 2.23

Yeah, I dunno if I want to do anymore to her. I think she has a 14.5
in her though. The geatbox was fully rebuilt 1 year ago with vette servo, kevlar bands, beast reaction shell, stage one trans go shift kit, the whole kit and kaboodle.

Well done Mack! some very respectable times there!

Are you intending on opening up the motor at all?
Are you going to go chasing faster times? or happy with that?

A cam and a stall converter to suit could bring those times down and totally transform the way the car drives around town!

Thanks alot Luke, Ill get some video footage and pics up once I get them on the PC. I dont intend on opening this motor up, I do want to chase faster times but I dont thinkits going to be in the GTS. Either a) take the Black motor out and leave it in storage and put in a donor engine. or b) leave the GTS in the shed and buy a project car.

Yeah it's a bit of an interesting situation! - it's the sort of car that you wouldn't want to make go-fast at the expense of it's originailty and mint condition!

Maybe you need a little torana or something, with a big engine?

If it's pre '73-'74 or something like that, you don't have to worry about EPA hassles! I think you could maybe find an LH with the correct build date?

The only thing you'd be restricted about is noise.....

so then you'd have a street-legal EPA friendly torrie to drive around town in on a friday ngiht
