    Default Slicks VP Commodore V6

UPDATE SOLD THE OLD BOY.I thought i better get this out the way i have been sitting back waiting for some time to do this thread, But now i am moving on into a VT i thought why not this car and i have come a long way together since 05, Actually this car has come along way from miss treated bricklayers car to great family car.

I wish i had early pics as i picked it up to really show how far it's came, It's a shame i haven't been able to get a paint job for it..

1992 VP Commodore V6 4 Speed Auto. Built (10/06/1992) Purchase was June 05 for $1700.
    Colour Cardinal Red.
KM's This is the hard part, I bought it with LV1 Dash with 289,000km Upgraded to the LV2 Dash and by my calculations we drive 350-450km per fortnight or a full tank of over 400km.. So going by that i work it out to be around 308,000km-311,000km.. And it's still a very good running car it sounds good still.
    Mods..
High Flow cat and 2.5" Redback system with muffler and hot dog.
VS V6 supercharged Cold air intake.
Upgraded the tyres ER30's all round on interceptor rims 225/60/r15.
Superlow kings springs all round, Rear lowered monroe shocks, Pedders sport ryders front.
    Standard size front slotted disc.
Rebuilt Auto, New Tailshaft, New Radiator, New injectors, Fuel reg O2 Fuel filter which helped me regain my fuel econemy, When i first bought it i was getting 200km to a full tank of 70 litres, Now i atleast can get over 400km easy. I really only drive local.

The guy i bought it off was a brothers friend, He owned this and a VR 5lt Statesman, The wife drove the VP until one day someone tried to steal it, They broke the steering off but couldn't take the car, She wouldn't take the car anymore to her work so they swapped cars, This was the biggest mistake, He then used the VP as his work car, So it was towing all his work and 5 big men and god knows what in the boot he is a bricklayer.. So for the next 2 years it was mistreated, Until they started to get very poor fuel econemy and it smelt, So to easy to try and fix it they let the car sit in the backyard for 13 months, That was until my brother spotted it and said WTF are you doing with this my brother is looking at buying a car... The rest is history, Took 2 weeks to clean it out and i feel i will never get into right, There is still glass under the carpet from the window that was smashed as they broke in. There was bricks in parts i couldn't believe, Nails the size of John Holmes fun muscle in the seats. Also ahd 4 differnt wheels and 2 were 14" and the other 15" and you would think 14" fornt and 15" back, No they were all over the place. Today it;s a very clean and respectable car which i hold as a big achievement to myself as i have never been one to look after cars this car was different i had to really care for it for some reason.. And when the old owner and his wife come by and see the car they smile to them it looks like the day they bought it and that does give me a big head to have them say it looks great. In 2 years we have spent plenty on it and most is hidden and not seen, I always wanted to do so much with this car i had massive plans for it, I still will have it it's just now i have handed the keys to my mother she loves it also and i very proud of what we have done with little money we have had..
I do wish i had day 1 pictures to be honest i was embarrassed with it it smelt and looked like **** some tips were cleaner, But my brother working wit this guy for years keeped at me saying don't think about looks trust me this is one good car it always has been trust me, I did and he was right..
Also had a accident last year which really slowed us down. But it's back fixed.

And on toughness they are built tough, I drove from Camperdown home to Sunshine with only 2 gears as the auto died and no-one would help me, That is why i got road side assistance, But at the time i was ****ed so we cruised home @ 45-60kp/h it went like a dream over 200km with a couple of brakes and pulling to the side of the road to avoid cars and trucks was fine.

So now i move into a VT but i will still drive the old boy as i thinks it's great.
Some pic's some first ones and moving on pics and what i wanted to have it look like.

Here is a link to youtube my brother did a drive by for me as i have never herd the car go hard from outside.
