Nah, I couldn't find a Mighty Boy with the optional 2 speed auto hehehe.

Its my daily for the work run, carting stuff to the tip as I am doing house renovations, and chucking the bikes in when I go mountain biking. Its nice to drive, 5 speed manual, 2 litre, and the average fuel consumption is 9l/100km, as opposed to 14l/100km in the HSV.........

Oh, waaaay better build quality too

Hehe relax man, I'm just enjoying the piece and quiet of my new daily.

Just paid 6 months rego on her and will be booking her in for the major 150,000km service and RWC and then she is up for sale.

Well I don't think I'm going to sell it anymore. When I finish renovating my house I'll haul it off to the panel beaters for a touch up and get the interior retrimmed.

I took it out of the shed on the weekend, the first time its been out in nearly 6 months. Bought a new battery and she fired up first go.

Reversed out and noticed the puddle on the floor, and then I smelt it - a fuel line was leaking.

Got that sorted and took it for a drive. It's amazing how crude and rough these things can be, especially when you are used to driving much more modern cars

Heh reminds me of when occasionally ive gone from driving my commodore to my mums toyota echo and i literally laugh outloud at its speed, 70-80km is about 5 secs 0-100 about 2 mins.
I honestly find no difference in ride quality from my commodore to that echo and my commodore is a 94 and the echo is a 2004 i think, maybe you need to get a newer model commodore and get the best of both worlds: power/ride quality

Heheh, my VP has got nothing on my Suzuki in the way of ride quality and general overall quiteness, and thats saying something because the Suzuki ain't the most refined vehicle out there hehe.

Its just good to hop into it every now and again and then try to remember why I ever continued to drive it as a daily for 5 years

    Cheers.

I have the plates in storage at the RTA in NSW, I'm in QLD.

I'll probably sell the plates sooner or later as I can't get that combination up here.....

Well I took it out the other weekend and the alternator died on me leaving me stranded in Indooroopilly Westfield carpark. Lately its been driving like a pig with hardly any power. I felt like putting a match to it to be honest.

She now sits in my car port and I'll get around to doing the following things soon to get her back to what she used to drive like when my parents bought it in 1993:

    1. Alternator
    2. Rotor cap, button and coil
    3. New leads, sparkplugs and ignition module (tested it, its almost dead as well)
    4. New tints and roof lining
    5. Front bar and side mirror resprayed
    6. Gearbox service and general service
    7. Get the rear power window working

    Should be interesting and costly.................

Heheh, nah it was like that before the alternator let go.

I'm hoping new sparky bits will perk it up

I was watching Nascar last night and a dead alternator let the charge in the battery go down until no spark and then dead car. So I was just thinking (dangerous I know) that if the alty was packin it in, the charge would have been low. Coupled with weak ignision parts would not of helped - Probably speaking a load of crud

At least it was not out in the middle of the desert some place

Just out of curiosity how did you check the ignition module?

I didn't do it myself, i got it tested by an auto electrician. Whether he knew what he was doing is another story.

Deregistered and up on stands with 150,000km on the clock.

CBF'd paying $1000 a year in rego and ctp to drive it maybe 6 times a year. When I do re-register it, it will be in another state.

When the house reno's are finished then I'll give it a freshen up.

Starting to think of engine options - a relatively angry 5 litre, a charger on the stock bottom end or a LSx conversion.

Trying not to get too carried away with it haha, pouring all my cash into paying off and renovating the house at the moment.
