    Update,

Car seems to be running good apart from semi slipping auto, i've been talking to morton about weight reduction and getting some ideas and hints, so i have pulled out all the underlay crap and rubber matts out from under the carpet in the car, all thats left is the tar sound deadner and the carpet, so i'll get stuck into the sound deadner soon.
tonight me and a mate got stuck into the car again, i got a shorter belt to by pass the aircon best $19 ever lol, i pulled out everything aircon related in the engine bay and hooked the tranny cooler back up to the radiator, there is alot of space under the bay now lol, i dunno how much wait i would have pulled out with all the crap under the carpet and aircon maybe 30Kgs around there.
Me and a mate where driveing (casually) beside each other and from 0-100 i had him by half a car, he has a VN S1 V6 5speed manual with various mods exhaust, shorter belt, tuned computer, and he has been out the drags and pulls 10.1 200m and something like 65-67mph i think, but all in all i think the car is getting there cant wait to rip the motor and box out and push aside the slugamatic and put in the T5..

    Another Update lol

Tonight i got stuck into the sound deadner with a mate we got some done all the matts and underlay crap is out from the other night so we got all the tar off under the back seat and some off trans tunnel up to the centre consol, also pulled the drivers seat off and took all the tar out of there from front to back, all we have left is the other side from back seat passenger foot well part all the way to the fron and then the trans tunnel, aparently there is alot on the trans tunnel?? so all up inside the car so far i have taken out about10-15Kg or something like that sofar, and the aircon and pipes all of that is out to, how much would all that weight??
after all this work of weight reduction i am stump what else i could do to pull more out of her, so i will have to call up the car gods and ask Greenfoam and Morton lol, guys help me make my v6 go harder lol

OK...... finally all the deadner is out, apart from the bit on the firewall and at the very top of trans tunnel, now i need some new grommets lol, also found that up drivers seat where the rail bolts to the floor has a crack coming from it so thats why the seat sits down so low, i have to get that fixed soon.

So all up with the aircon and deadner mats all the crap is about 40-50Kg thats lost, spare tire and jack is out, and it has no toebar and now i am stumped for ideas to make it lighter i dont think there is anything else i can do really to make it light, now i really need a gtech to see how fast this baby goes
If there is anymore ideas to make my v6 faster within my budget feel free to post a comment :P

You took out the aircon! You hardcore bastard! :P Good on you!

If you're REALLY keen to start shedding weight, it's all going to be in little, little bits. And you'll have to sacrifice your good looks. I think the way that car looks, you're best off keeping it as a comfortable daily. But if it's your second car, then you can start removing boot garnish, roof lining, plastics, and attacking your reo bars with a holesaw. Other stuff like that. That's all pretty hardcore for little gain though.

Remember when you get the T5 in there, that'll save you around 20 kilos Manuals are nice and light. Congrats at getting all the deadner out! That's not easy

Have you got a tune yet? CAI? You may want to start saving for diff gears. a set of 3.9s will make it take off, and are good value for money. If you want to hit the 1/4 mile instead of the 1/8 mile, it may also be worth whipping up some cheap plastic home-made air deflectors to cable tie under the engine and around the fuel tank at the back, to reduce turbulence.

Also look at getting a set of BMW stockies (15*6.5 I think). They're lighter than interceptors, and undoubtedly lighter than your mags. You can save another maybe 20kg by getting a full set of those with 225/50/15 rubber

I know i'm crazy i scare my self sometimes , the deadner took two nights to do, not an easy job thats for sure only used a hammer and chisle lol and my hands are killing me worth it tho, i think the next thing will get a hole saw into the reo bars i think,
ATM the car has VS s/c CAI, Foamy chip(morton style), 2.5mandrel bent exhaust, pacemaker extractors, Smooted T/B and stopper shaved back to 100%. thats about it,
So the manual is 20kg lighter sweet lol more weight gone from the slugamatic,
i read through you thread again lol how did the spark plugs work out when u modded them, what about gap aswell is it better to get a smaller or larger gap and what plugs would be a colder rating than standard or is it a mod for the VPs to go to VN plugs or something, cheers for the tips mate

Updates, man! Got yourself a G-Tech yet?

I'm genuinely interested to see how fast this baby's starting to roll You've got one-up on me, in that you have pacemakers, and I never did! And the VNs are a wee bit faster than the VPs from the factory also.

    This baby has some potential

I heard you talking about FI in another thread - any idea what the odds are of seeing this car charg'd in the near future?

(although I'd still like to see how fast you can get her going NA before you charge it!)

No G-Tech yet , the new ones are to much and i cant find any seconhand ones,
i could'nt see a difference with the extractors, but i guess it feels the same when you drive the car all the time you wouldnt notice it, i think you car would be faster i think it had a better motor than mine lol but its not bad with a slipping auto, i linned up agains a mates VP 5L off the lights, and won both times up to a decent speed, he was half a car length behind but gaining.
I really want it to be S/C, i hope this set-up that i am checking out today is a goer, so i hope that it is S/C running 10PSI intercooled behind the T5 in the shed lol i can see it in the future lol. i hope

You won't find them in shops for anything less than a rip-off. Buying off ebay is fine, everyone on this forum who has one got it online

Yeah what he said lol, looks like i really need to get one now cause i bought the supercharger setup, read in the other thread that we where talking in lastnight, its not intercooled but i will sell the other setup online and get some money back lol. car still unable to drive, couldnt be bothered with it today to busy looking at superchargers lol insted of fixing the car that it is going on :P i'm weird. its all good tho it will be up and running and boosted soon,

By the way i am starting up a donation fund for a supercharger set-up if you have a good BOV, 2bar map sensor, bigger injectors and a 10psi pully i will gladly pay for postage to my door

Some pictures of the set-up not all put together, the rest is in the car.
The superchargers are on a clutch pully and hooked up to a micro switch on the T/B so when the T/B shut it turns them off, also water injection.

I dont want to go the easy way and drop in a 5l, thought i might have a play with a V6 and then after this car upgrade to a VX 5.7.

Shouldnt sound to bad on 10psi with T/B infront of charger and see if i can hook it up to the airbox and CAI, it was either boosting it or head/cam work, i still have a wade 1250 cam if no1 buys it i might throw it in the car and see if it will pull more power, i have another memcal so stocky is going to burn me another tune for it only on 3psi untill i get some more parts and get it up and running and on 10psi and intercooled,.

i finally got the CRS Kit on, and the BOV sucks ass lol, going to get another 1 tomorrow, took it for a spin and the micro switch needed to be adjusted, when i kicked it back the kickdown got caught on the micro switch and it held the supercharger on and the T/B wouldnt shut and i was puttin my foot on the brake and nothing much was happening so i put the car in N and turned it off and went to the side of the road, fixed it all up and made sure it doesnt get caught on there anymore and its all good now, quite some experiance scared the sh1t out of me lol, i took some pictures of the engine bay and everything, so i will make it look nicer tomorrow and put the airbox on insted of the pod

Thanx mate , the tail lights need a re-tint cause they fade abit after awhile but they still look pretty dark. Yeah i really need a G-Tech, umm the car N/A not to sure on i have done some weight reduction, removed aircon, pacemakers 2.5 mandrel exhaust, Vs s/c cai, foam tune, and more but not sure on 0-100, i'm guesing around 6.9-7.3ish when running real good. soon enough i will get a G-tech when i come across a cheap 1, if u see 1 and i hope i have the money pm me lol.

If you have a spare memcal around send it too me with some return postage, even on 3 psi you can break the old V6 from running lean/too much spark and I don't want to see you do that
