1999 LS1 VT SS
1991 VN V6 T5 Commodore
My first Vn altough obviously red I owned back in the early 90's had colour coded sills, black door window surrounds and rubber strips removed, But that was originally done with coloured coded bumpers and alloys which I later removed, looked good but I wanted a stock look to my recent VN
Totally up to you I guess

Looks nice
I have other things to do first before worrying about the front grille though, as i said to Chad just before:
i'll find a grille for it one day
more weight saving
paintng floor
purple interior
then engine and box
all to be done first :P

I have a (almost) complete mulberry interior sitting in the shed. Once the floor is painted up I will put it all in and hunt up the best mulberry bits I can (whatever I need to find to finish it all off)

Thought about it ant, to be honest I'm not sure what it'd look like (photoshop anyone??)
I think another thing putting me off doing it that way is police attention. I've had enoughI want to go full grandpa spec (well as grandpa spec as I can, keeping it super tidy) so nobody ever wants to look under the bonnet, which could be a problem in a year or so

Couple of pics of my dual rear swaybars that I snapped tonight during a failed attempt to swap tailshafts...
The new link pin setup:
The brackets and spacers look dodgy but are holding up very well. They were only meant to be temporary, but since they work so well I am leaving them as they are for a while at least
From behind the car you can just spot the second swaybar if you know what you're looking for:
Nobody has managed to spot it yet, except for a mechanic I used to use, who got the car up on a hoist and said laughing, "What the **** is that!?? I've never seen that before in my life!" Made me laugh, how startled he was.

Why? It works fine. As in, the rear end is stiff as anything and it cost under $50. WELL under $50 if I got all the bolt sizes right first go.. but I didn't :P
Don't knock it if you haven't tried it.![]()

Hmmm when i saw the twin swaybar setup, I assumed you were running a larger one and a custom brace between the rear shocker tops!
No offence....looks dodgy as....but then again it might work!
Sure does work manR31 guys have been using this sort of setup for years. Not to mention the fact it's been like this for 4 months or so now and hasn't come unstuck yet!

Whats the Handling around corner from before?, any improvment for launch control?
~ VN POWER ~ Click the scales
If i was to do it, i would put a Plate between the 2 where the bolts go so the Rubber has longer life and nodout might make it stronger.

Corners it feels a lot more 'planted' as the rear end barely sways at all. Because the grip doesn't all swing to the outside wheel so dramatically, the spool has a lot lower tendancy to start sliding the rear end out. Launches are also significantly harder / easier to get right / less axle trampy. I can only put the lack of axle tramp down to the wheels less capable of jumping independently of each other, but I still haven't totally figured out how it works yet, only that it does
Probably not a bad idea. Would be a nightmare to line up though, it was bad enough attaching it all how it is. Took a lot of manipulation, spring steel doesn't always do what you want :P
Nah it's okI have full faith in the bolts, I used high tensile gear throughout, only thing that isn't HT is the link pins, which are just M12 (I think, maybe M10?) threaded rod. They are only mainly under compression and tension anyway so I figure they'll be plenty strong enough. The whole setup has been put through a little abuse and stood up to it fairly well, I went out one day with the intention of throwing the whole setup around as hard as I could, to try to break/unsettle anything, and find any weak spot. Nothing went wrong so I figure I'm OK

Wow. Haha, I'm glad you like it! The top half has been resprayed some time in the past, but never recently. I try to keep it polished to hide the imperfections in that respray. I will be getting it painted again at some stage, but this paint should hold up for a couple of years yet!!

Get it right man, cut the fat out of the guts of it. Make it lean and mean

Foams pic is perfect.......
EDIT: well almost,![]()
I'm not so keen on having a big arse lump of rubber on my doors... I hate that stuff, it never looks clean and you can't really polish it (well you can but it doesn't last well).
Black sills may yet win me over, probably not until the car gets painted though. Plenty more important stuff to do in the meantime!!
