Removed the towing sub-frame today, saved a good 10kg. Sealed up all the holes it left with black sicaflex, so there's no problem with water spray coming up into the boot.

Good to knowbut that's hardly a fair comparison, is it??
I'm definitely doing a VP build, I've seen the light. They're nicer inside than VNs, and you can't go past a good Calais. I just want cooler factory options

Does actually look tough man r these ur rims from the 5L? wats happenin with that now its not sitting on bricks now is itlol
Theres somthing about the rear im not sure about i think its the garnish tho coz the bars so big and smooth and u have those lines in the garnish ever thought about filling these so the garnish is all smooth? might knock a year or 2 of its age from behind then haha
Check out my ride in progress.... 98 VT V6, V8 Supercar kittedDaily toy.... 92 VP Calais 5L
********4 Sale- 2 x 7' Pool Tables********
Yep they're the ones from the 5LThat's for sale on the cheap so it's been downgraded to 17" VT SS for the moment.
I've seen VNs with smoothed garnishes, I hate them!Never mind knocking a year or 2 off its age, I'm planning on knocking the body kit off, I'm over it. Back to standard or SS bumpers.. whatever comes up at a good price. I have an Exec rear bar in the shed ready, just need to make a full set and the kit's off!

The wheels look nice mate.
VP Calais will be tops though, great cars.
haha yeah so if you know anyone who wants a bodykit, tell them to buy mine!
I'm looking to start a serious project, and I've decided to base it on a Calais.. much nicer to be in. I was looking into rewiring this entire car and changing over the whole interior but decided against it. The plan is to pick up a VP Calais and drop in an LS 6-speed manual.

can u get ultra lows for vns or just superlows?
SSL is as low as King go for live axle commodores I believe. That's one step lower than what I have in this car. I'm after a set

whats gonna happen to ur vn man anyway?
When a VP Calais turns up for the right price (once I've saved enough cash up) I'll put all the parts I can onto that car and then wreck the VN (Lexcen), selling off the rest of the stuff. I'll never get any money for the shell, it's a 500,000km car. Very straight, but nevertheless a 500,000km car.

ah tru lol thats gettin near the days of doom :P
yeah sounds mint if u cant get a calais get a berlina just as good just not as nice interior![]()
The interior is what I want though. Full Calais electrics, nothing less. A sunroof is also in the plan, assuming I won't be able to find one with a sunroof already. I own two base model Commodores as it stands, I've learned I won't be happy unless I have a Calais at the least, regardless of model.

yeah man, im actually looking for a Vp calais or berlina haha Vps the best looking commos
Chadly
Yeah I agree chadly, I love the VN/VP shape. I used to like VNs better but I'm warming to the VP, the front guards just flow a bit better with the longer indicators, and you get side indicators as well which is a bonus for safety.
I thought I'd like the VR/VS better until I actually owned one. They have their advantages but just don't have the almost classic muscle feel of a VN/VP.
LS1 VP is definitely my next car.
