    Default 89 vn executive sedan

I got this pretty cheap i think it has a clubsport kit on it, wich i see from looking at the forums is a big no no. But at the moment it makes it look alittle classy
It has a blown headgasket and so the engine is getting fixed up soon and im planing on painting some parts white and restoring the bluey colour. Also when i get some cash going to put on pacemakers extracters and exhaust. After that i might put a different kit on.

Its had a blown headgasket for over 2 years and still goes like a cut cat. and all that the engine needs is a new gasket and a bit of machining on the head to get it sitting completely flat
The photos are crap because it was too sunny but you get the jist of it

lol it was my laptop's camera.
And thats good to hear the kit is nice because its the only reason i brought the car.
Its my first car and im trying not to be overly unco about it.
It's auto, has a skyline gearbox in the boot that came with the car which is weird because its a buick engine (but the mechanics said it was a chevy 3.8 so im not sure), if any knows how to make the gearbox fit in that would be good but for now looks like its going to stay auto for awhile.
Ill put photos on of the engine work might make a good how to replace all gaskets guide.

ah yes, there should be a setting on the web cam (i assume that your using) for outdoors. that will fix it so it dosent go like that. im sure there's a adapter for that gearbox on CRS.

I think hes saying its a No No to have a Group A kit on a N/A V6, which is the main reason why I didn't buy one for my V6 haha. But yeah, get some better pics mate, nice for a first ride.

    Default Repairs

We took off the rocket covers, no pictures as i had to bus to my car and didnt bring a camera. The Head gaskets look fine we thought we saw a small place where it might leak at the top in the middle of the gasket but this appeared on both gaskets and might just be the way the gaskets come factory (yes? no? any one know?) The gasket problem was diagnosed from emissions readings from exhaust and coolent. Apart from that there was one major problem found, about a half inch of crud and old oil all over everything tappets, valley pushrod and springs. Injectors were good. Power steering hose had a leak, handbrake cable has fallen out of the handbrake and the shoe on one of the rear discs is chewed.
    So thats the damage.
My mate told me im not allowed to touch anything but let me have the rocket covers and valley to clean and paint. $40 worth of degreaser and steam cleaning got it pretty clear (but as you can see still black in the corners). Taped up all the connecting parts and sprayed the showing surfaces white. Then a bit of gasket goo into the lettering on the valley.

Didn't end up getting any pictures of the work in progress.
Car has been all fixed, but when idling-driving if i hit it up on the rev's when it drops down it cuts off.

Damage to front, kit came off all sides and theres a photo of the kit in my car.
Am loooking at buying a rolling body with live plates for hopefully under $400,
damage behind a strut near the a/c looks irrepairable.
But in the process of inspecting the damage realised that a vaccume hose and some plugs were unplugged so now the engine is in mint condition.
Roker covers... rocket sounds so much better.

Car is all fixed now with Statesman front and back bumper a silver vp bonnet so no more hood scoop and cheviot 14s.
Its a shame the only reason i picked this car was because of how SHEXY the bodykit was and now its just standard.
GO the P platers! we've almost made the vn's rare
