UPDATE!
well its been a few months since ive even opened this thread, and its still pretty much stock besides a few new things.. got her a CAI and a high flow cat, 2.5 inch catback exhaust, with twin 3 inch dumpers. has quite a nice note to it for what it is.
have just purchased a genuine set of vn ss foggies, which will be cleaned up and put in hopefully in the next few weeks. still need the front lip and side skirts but they'll come eventually
have also bought another engine which will be stripped and slowly rebuilt by my friend and myself. not going to be a hottie motor, just a lumpy cam, up the compression, all the usual small stuff
anyways that'll do for now, will update in a few months probably
cheers, pauly.
oh and a put a few more recent pics up..![]()

Ooooh nice! I love a tasty little V8Looks like the body is straight, and the engine is dusty as opposed to oily... which is always a good thing ^^
Oooh man, once you clean that baby up and get some nice seats in, you'll be pimpin'!!
I'm so jealousOut of interest, what did you pay for it?

yeah the bodys fairly straight (few minor minor dints here and there) but yeah gotta fix the paint (if you cant tell its dull.. needs a buff and a cut and polish. or a respray haha).
umm i paid 4,500. which ive been told isnt too bad for a manual. but then some people have given me weird looks. i got it cheaper than he had it advertised anyways.
Very nice, don't get too green coloured Morton, you better start saving
Aye, saving indeed! Maybe once I move to QLD I can start saving in earnest. Shame I have to move interstate, but I follow the money.
But damn, 4500 for a manual V8... not bad! Let's hope you don't have much to do to get RWC. Any idea of the list yet?

gotta put the fan shroud back on. need an exhaust (the one on it doesnt have a rear muffler). hey might be a dumb question but could i put a stock v6 catback exhaust on just for the rwc? the one i have on my v6 now might be too loud id say.
had a look at the front bush's and they look okay. has a few minor oil leaks but ill run some stop leak through it. sumps nice and clean though. needs tyres (all 4 are bald as lmao) but ill just take the ones off my ceptors and put them on the ss rims.
umm just trying to think of other things... springs and shocks are standard height so they should be good. theres bugger all rust (im talking a few very tiny tiny rust bubbles).
door seals and stuff seem fine if not they aint expensive. cant think of what else gets run over in an rwc atm. lol
oh and the two indicators are cracked but yano.. switchy switchy with my v6 haha.
thanks dude.
yeah it runs fine. clutch needs to be adjusted but its no biggie atm (doesnt go into reverse properly... need to put it in 5th first.)
thats pretty normal for a manual box to do that tho...every manual ive driven does it.... good pickup tho its looking pretty straight and tidy![]()
Yeh, i always put my 5 speed in 5th before going to reverse, slots in so much easier then going straight to reverse. As said thats pretty standard for a T5. Nice car by the way...
Looks like a good ride, would love to get myself one again but alas i have already had one as a project.
Need any help with anything let me know![]()

The only shame is the fog lights... correct me if I'm wrong, but they look aftermarket?

thanks minux!
yeah the foglights are aftermarket. not sure what brand. wonder how hard it'd be to get my hands on a set of originals..![]()
Nice buy mate, she is a tad dirty under the hood haha, I see she has the original mags even!
yeah the mags have seen better days. still keeping them on though. chucking the 225's off my ceptors on them
yeah definitely needs a good clean under the hood. shame about the water restrictions, otherwise i wouldnt be on this forum right nowi'll take it to a carwash joint when its ready for roadworthy and give it a real good clean under the hood. gotta try not to damage anything with the highpressure water though.. should be right shouldnt it?
Higher the pressure the better if you ask me, make sure you let the degreaser sit for a bit to break the oils down, just try and keep away from fuse/relay box and battery, I sometimes put a regular plastic shopping bad over the top tucked in to stop any immediate water entering.![]()
I prefer to use two cans of degreaser and a squirty bottle with water in it. The pressure from the degreaser can tends to be enough to knock off grease, and the thick stuff can be attacked with a toothbrush or a dirty rag.
I tend to be against the idea of attacking the engine with a high pressure hose, simply because there's too much risk of breaking something like rocker cover gaskets or other paper gaskets. Those hoses are pretty damn powerful at the carwash. Ever sprayed one on your hand? lol![]()

yeah thats the kinda stuff i was worried about morton.. and like.. hoses. and yes, they tear skin. haha.
Nar, the ones at the carwash are weak, mainly because they dont want people taking the paint off their bumper now do they. I have used a home high pressure hose and it would take paint off the car and leave red marks on your skin, you dont need to get up like 1cm away from it, but im most areas 20-30cm should e fine at a public carwash. I dont know about how powerfull they are where you live but I know the one where i am is pretty weak, but powerfull enough to clean your car. I know if I owned one of those car wash places I woudnt have it up real high.
