cutting it diagonal wont allow more air through the smaller hole its got at the start of it.

Beautiful car to start out with - and nice choice of colour

That's almost exactly what mine looked like when I bought it Good price, too, for a ride that clean with a reco'd engine.

Yeah as Hakhawk said, it's a weiner of a little hole from the back TB elbow. Some people's cars react well with no bellmouth, some don't, just remember to put the foot down so it hits around 3 grand on the rev gauge and hold it for about 10 seconds, this will reset the ECU. As at first when you start her up before you do that, it will idle really erratically and haneous.

It's easier to put your foot on the accelerator mate lol. Just hold the revs up "fairly high" for 10 seconds. If Hakhawk is tearing your bellmouth out, he will know how to hold the revs at 3 grand without a tacho.

i really need some sticky 215's as the stock 14" 185's have stuff all traction its getting dangerous as i live in the country (dirt road's are too loose and she throw's herself side way's even when driving soft!)

narrow wheels are better in loose gravel then wide tyres. narrow tyres dig into the gravel more, the wider the tyre the more it tends to sit on top of all the loose stuff and the more it's like driving on marbels. just look at all the rally cars, they don't use wide wheels on gravel stages. i had some 235/45/17's on the VN and was following a mate in a beat up old japper with skinny little wheels, when ever i used any decent amount of throttle it started to spin, i lost it on a corner and wasn't even really on he gas, it was a nice cambered flowing bend too, jsut like the ones you see on the rally in NZ, which has some of the fastest/flowing gravel stages in the WRC

But the VN is about 400kgs too heavy to drive properly in the dirt anyway . HR holdens are unreal on the dirt! amazing as it might seem, my mate use to rally his like he was born in Finland, genius

jet_pilot, get the highway max 225's they have a fairly chunky tread and at liek 70$ or less a tyre, can't go wrong, I drive my VP at near enough to 100km/h on dirt roads, goes ok. Bit bumpy with FE2 and 38 psi tho:P
