Bilsteins are in, as are the K-mac strut tops. All I can say is woah - what a difference. The ride is quite a bit firmer but *all* of the high speed floatyness (is that a word?) has gone. I got a wheel alignment done and dialed in a tad more neg camber + bought the caster to right at the end of the factory limit.

In my early testing the rear still seems to have a little too much roll for my liking and maybe a slightly stiffer rear bar might be the go. I'll let things settle down for a few runs before I do this though.

Hey Reaper what are your thoughts on King Springs? Did you check them out as an option for the VP.

Yeah I did. Like anything you get what you pay for. For anybody who wants their street car to sit a bit lower with otherwise normal driving they are a good cheap solution. For track work there are probably better alternatives but you pay accordingly.

I highly recommend Quadrant Bilstein in Berwick. They know *exactly* what is what. Compared to your standard pedders/monroe it isn't cheap but the difference in performance is huge. It was around $1400 for springs and shocks. I installed them.

After way too much chocolate over Easter I decided the VP needed to go on a diet

Out came the entire interior and an afternoon with the heat gun got me about 1/2 way there....

As you can see the tunnel and passenger side is still to go. I think I have the technique down pat and hopefully will get home from work early enough to finish it during the week.

Ps. Metal buckets suck as drivers seats.

Used petrol again to clean the remains off or acetone? very clean job so you must have used something . One thing is for sure it's going to be an awe inspiring sound from inside the cabin on your next trip to 60 mph

It wont make alot of extra difference in straight line speed but it all adds up for cornering/braking and general hanging onto the road and controlabilty in a hairy moment and that's all important stuff for this car. In the end If car A has 50 kgs less than Car B then Car A wins no matter if it's by .1 it's still a win

I lost count doing mine, But roughly on the VP the deadner in the boot and towards the back seat is almost 10 kgs, the rubber mats are about another 10. And the rest of the deadner in the cabin is around 20. So it's a 40kg trick or so. Which if you've ever had a light weight girl in the 40 kg range in the car you'll know it's enough to notice being slightly slower with that much extra weight and it's the most weight you can pull from a VP that has no real purpose so it's just gota go in a perforamce car. Reaper will be able to tell you exactly how much all that weighed soon .

The VN I just sold didn't have any in the boot. BTW - can anybody confirm if the re-enforcing bracket that runs from the center of the diff hump to the back along the boot floor is part of the car or is it part of the tow bar and can be removed.

Mine had a bar along the centre of the boot floor but it was the top part of the tow bar. Well I assumed so, it didn't look factory.
And only VN calais have deadner in the boot and even then seems like not all of them do. All VP's have it

Hokay.... out it comes..... Am also considering a pair of carbon/suede seats a friend has sitting about. The stockies weigh a ton! Not sure about this one though - I have visions of this car all bared out and 100% track if I did that.
