Hey everyone!
I'm pretty new here, so I'm going to give you all a little look at my ride. It's nothing special, but it's mine
The aim of my car is to spend as little money as possible, doing everything myself!
Car
- 1991 Holden Commodore VN 3.8
- Ex Interceptor (FE2 springs, auto trans cooler, bigger alternator, police dash)
- VN SS steering wheel (I think)
- LPG
- 318,000 kms on the clock
- Custom chip by greenfoam
- Pod Filter in engine bay (I bought it like that ok!)
- Removed rear resonator and welded on 4inch tailpipe
- 17 inch VT SS wheels
- Fire Extinguisher
Sound System (Did it all my self, but wiring was already there)
- Headunit: Xplod CDX-GT250S
- Equaliser: Kenwood KGC-6042A
- Front speakers: Kenwood KFC-M1620 6.5"s, 30wRMS
- Rear speakers: Xplod 6.5"s, 40wRMS
- Sub: Pioneer TS-W306C 400wRMS.
- Front speaker amp: Kicker 200si, 2x 100wRMS[?]
- Rear speaker amp: Kenwood KAC-723, 2x 40wRMS
- Sub amp: Jaycar Response 2x 150wRMS Bridged at 400wRMS[?]
- Some Ancient Capacitor
Problems
- Elusive Power Steering leak (already replaced pump!)
- All shocks are way worn out
- Runs like rubbish on petrol and blows out way too much black smoke (only on petrol though)
- 0-100 in 10.5 seconds (timed)
- Petrol evaporates, because I use way more than I should for only starting it on petrol (never driving it)
Not going to fix any of these problems, saving up for WL/WK grange for when I'm off my P's. 2 years to go
Thank the 5 people in the car for this ride height
New 4 inch exhaust tip
One of the cleanest interiors!
NEW! Actual ride height & painted bumpers satin black with pressure packs!
Finished painting, done window surrounds and trolley strips. Debadged too!

I like your boot set up, simple and tidy, Will be good to meet ya at the upcoming cruise!! We need more VN's in the vic chapter we have too many VS's and VR's at the moment.

Going fast on as little money as possible. Who does that sound like? WE HAVE MORTON THE SECOND!
Yeah, I've had all these holidays from tafe and I've done nothing... I need to paint the bumpers and grey strip down the doors. Thank the 5 people in the car for ride height, would love it to sit there all the time but FE2 isn't too bad. Crappy shocks means it sits a lil lower than it's supposed to as well.
I'm thinking about removing the bellmouth, but in another post some guy apparently dyno tuned it and found no increase in power anywhere. I don't know what to do, I've never touched the engine so I'd probably damage a gasket or something!
AirStrike, what's a truck stack?
he means the exhaust tip.

Oh ok. Some people don't like it, some do... Personally I do. Not like it's a hotdog or anything! It's not as 'noticeable' in real life, less shiny, looks smaller for some reason
Atleast it isnt the stock rusty pipe that most vn/p's have.
I must say levy, i am quite a fan of the ride height on your VN, but i reckon you should go with some 18's!! 18's would make your car look very low indeed!!

Its not really that low man dont you read?....
But anyway.
Not a bad car man, just be prepared to cop crap about gas if you come along to any of the cruises lol
Like the boot install, its clean, and hides the gas tank well!
haha why does everyone hate gas so much? i still use 20l/100km minimum! it's not that cheap!
I want to remove the bellmouth, and after that I have to reset the ecu... I was wondering if it is safe to reset the ecu because I am on lpg? The reason that I ask is that I thought the ecu might be specially mapped for lpg or something... I don't know much about engines so I'd better be safe than sorry. I'm really lacking low down power and this might just help

very nice mate20L/100km? how much do you thrash this thing? haha i think there is an economy thread at the moment in the vn section and morton gave a post with things that should be done for economy, might be worth a look?
overall very nice car, paint your bumpers and it will look sexeven though yours looks better then mine i really noticed how much better it looked when i painted the bumpers....
AND dont worry, its only resets the ecu, doesnt wipe anything.... im on gas aswell and ive done it heaps of times, so its fine![]()
Hahahaha we pay gas out alot @ our KK meets because you get more power from petrol. Sure there are cars out there pulling mass power figures on LPG, but in our crew, most of us aren't pulling massive power figures from stock. Ask marcus, his VK can actually spin wheel a little bit now he uses petrol bwahahahaha.
And seb (grinfked limo) had his changed from LPG to petrol, he says it's because the LPG was stuffing the carbys up, but i secretly think it's because he felt alone.hahahaha

VR's and VS's are sweet, just not when you are surrounded by 20 million of them every week at KKWE NEED MORE FREAKIN VN'S AND VP'S. DAMN YOU FOR LEAVING DANIEL!!

this removed bellmouth better fix low down performance! (doing it today)
Hahahaha it's all good we didn't think you would be doing silly stuff anyway.
Let us know how the bellmouth removal goes. Just remember, as soon as you start her up after taking it out, your car will idle erratically, so when you start her up, hold the revs at around 3grand for about 10 seconds to reset the computer, Then turn the car off, and re start her. Then she should idle sweet.

Get him to take the LPG system out as well!

are you going to chipcontrol dyno day on the 27th?
Nah, I have a thing about Sunbury. Not gonna go into it, but i'm not going. Come along to Krispy Kreme this friday!
