yeh i'll never buy a done up car cos theres a big chance they've been thrashed, every car ive ever bought has been off an old person so i know they been well cared for.
and yes im gonna keep the wheels on there i like them and i think they suit nice, as for power im gonna chuck on some extractors to start with and i wanna start with doing things like thermo's and electric water pump so i can free up the engine a bit, oh and i gotto get one of foamy's tunes to give it that bit extra boost, but later down the track i will look at cam and stuff but that wont be for a while cos im saving for a house.

Very nice indeed. Just dump it a few inches in the back, and that's one nice VN Calais. Well, it's nice anyways, but would be even nicer lower![]()

I heard you can gain like 10kw+ from just removing the metal fan, and putting electric thermo's on instead! Maybe get some vt twin thermo's for it.
Also you could get a cam for like $160 and do it yourself!
ive never done a cam before so im not sure what is involved, do ya have to remove the whole engine?

i got my lsd put in today with 3:45 gears and i am wrapped, got a little bit more go off the mark but cant tell yet cos i dont want to drive it to hard yet until its run in.
once again im wrapped, now next is twin thermos and a foamy tune![]()
"A life lived in fear is a life half lived"
can you tell me exactly what speed you redline at in first and second gear please knievey, im keen to put some new gears in my car when cash permits me to but toying with the idea of either 3.45 or 3.7.
yeh no worries, i need to get a corrector kit for the speedo 1st tho cos i think its about 15kmh out now, also i went 3.45 cos mine is my daily and i didnt want to affect fuel usage too much

i cleaned my engine bay a little bit today, its still not the cleanest but its heaps better.
also gonna paint the engine covers soon but dont know what colour/colours to do them? any ideas?

very neat calais, who hacked up the hsv cai looks bad? any way rims suit nicely and low kays always helps. Good calais.
Cheers.![]()

i cut it back, its not the hsv style cai its the normal one with the tiny opening that wouldnt even be able to fit a fly thru so i cut it back to get max air thru and it has made a massive improvement over what it was so im happy, besides i dont really care what it looks like as long as it works

nice job cleaning the bay, were you careful around the igniter, coil/dissy and battery area?
yeh sure was, tried to keep them as dry as possible, i been meaning to do it for a while now cos i did underneath the car when i 1st got it and its still that clean u could almost eat off it
"A life lived in fear is a life half lived"
that's alright, ive seen people short out things after they have been to the carwash, drive around for a day then doesn't start....
It makes a big difference in how the cars projected, makes it look like its been taken care of.
