    Default Brothers Daily Driver/ Project

This is my brothers daily VN Berlina.

He bought it over 5 years ago, with the roof starting to fade, a year later we sanded it back and coated it in cheap primer to stop the rust. Took him years (literally) to finally decide to paint it.
All photos so far is how it looks as of 2 days ago. Yesterday it got sanded and hit with primer, today the roof is getting paint and clear.
All work is done by me and him, and has turned into our project.

All painting is done in sections because we cant take it off the road for long being his daily. All painting is bare metal job.

    Current Mods:
Stock Engine (its had 2 worked 6's, now on its 2nd stock engine)
Custom Roof fade with genuine Rust :P
    VR Coil pack and DFI
    Tinted windows
No real mods, but have spent alot of time making it reliable, and all electrics work, interior is tidy, except roof lining.

    Future Mods:
    VP Aero Body Kit
    HSV? 16inch Alloys
    Calais Interior
    Either a V8 or a mildly worked 6.
    Roof Lining

Heres some photos of the roof painted, this is taking with the camera flash its dark outside. Ill get it in the sun and get some shots, im excited to see it in the sun.
The two shots are where we stuffed up, and ive fixed it as best i can for the time. I bloody bug flew into the paint and got stuck, when we removed it the paint just kept bubbling and clagging, but didnt come up to bad in the end, still looks better then before we started.

    YAY COMMENTS lol.
I like the colour to, its suppose to be the original to whats on their, but its definitly got alot more purple in it. And it hasnt lightened up at all like we thought it would.
Its all going back to bare metal and being primered, painted and cleared.
Yep clear coat is on in those pics.

Plans are pretty basic, its my brothers and his budget haha. But main thing is make it a realiable daily driver, with VP aero kit, 16 HSV? rims(ill post a pic of the wheels up after), calais interior or atleast seats, audio setup, and looking at doing a bit of work to the six in the mean time. Cant decide whether he wants to do a manual or V8 conversion, or both. Also look at lowering once the kit is on, it may sit to low with the kit, not sure yet.

Its suppose to be Imperial blue, just like the original paint, though Im starting to think its not, as its got way to much purple in it. Im just glad we decided to get enough to do the whole car, and before we bought the paint we will contemplating going a purpley colour haha.

These are 16's to be fitted, were arnt fans of big rims, so 16's are just fine. Does anyone know what they are off at all?

VP aero bar test fitted because I was told it cant be fitted without changing the whole front end to VP, but thats not the case, kit still needs a heap of work to get right.

Yeah got the whole aero kit, front and rear bars, side skirts, door panels, rear spoiler, dont have the grill or bonnet bulge.
For the grill we have 4 options.
    Standard
    Custom
    Letter box
    Solid group A style one.

Stamped on the back as follows.

    one spoke:
some weird symbol looks like a W kinda
    16 X 7J

    two spoke:
    EMR
    PRODUCT

    3 spoke:
    690kg VLA

other two spokes just have a weird grid in them. We were told they are original HSV wheels, but no idea, cant see what model they are from, seen ones very similar, id say they are copies. Hes happy with them so thats all the matter, unless their cheap copies.

You sound excited to paint mate, wait till you get started, prep work is a bitch lol. BUT I get left to do all prep work/mixing/setting up/cleaning and its not even my car. He just sprays and occasionly helps out with prep work lol.

If you want the new paint to come out really nicely sand it with wet 'n' dry 2000 grit paper and then go over it with rubbing compound and finally cut and polish. You just have to be VERY careful when sanding on hard edges but that should make it come out beautfiully
