The car looks tops mate very sleeper looking, Interior looks imac did you paint the console? i have heard alot about Highway Max, i was in the garage today and seend on the 15inch mags i have that came with the car when i bought it, the tires are Highway Max lol i was just going to fry em when i get the manual in my car lol maybe fry the Bridgestones.
Keep up the good work.![]()

It looks like thats how it came STOCK ! very neat man, very neat. Couple of questions, does your cruise still work ? and where did you source the center console from, im in need of one, mines broke, and i cant get one from any of the wreckers, I know of one, and the stooge is unwilling to sell it. he wants to " part it all out as a complete conversion " ahh lol.
Hahaha thanks mateI get a bit silly with the camera sometimes. Was using my mate's Canon 350D. It's not the latest and greatest camera out there, but it still makes anything I take look good
hehe
Yeah, the bumper's a bit annoying. It's not just fallen off the slide, the whole slide is distorted. Old age has not been kind to it. I'm still working on building up the motivation to get in there and arrange some cable ties in a way that corrects it.
Yeah, the bumper has to be done. The back isn't too straight either, to be honest. There's a bit on the car that needs a nip and tuck. I'm all mechanic'd out for a few days, but it will happen
Thanks man ^_^ The interior is still a work in progress. All the dodgy unfinished bits are cleverly hidden in that pic
Thanks mateAs I said to Mack, all the dodgy bits are hidden in that picture
It still has a long ways to go yet.
Hehe, maybe. Once I find a way to get a good launch out of this thingAt the moment, it's a fine balance between bucketloads of axle tramp, and blatant burnouts.
lol, damn straight. The manual work will come with timeAt least I can admit I'm all thumbs behind the wheel of a manual V8 lol. Baby steps, I say. Once the clutch is bedded in, then I can start working on launches for that first G-Tech
Thanks man, appreciate that ^_^ A few touchups needed, but it's getting there
Thanks mate ^_^ The console is lightly painted. It's all temporary though. Coming out again tomorrow to be done properly. And hopefully I can work out a place for the power window switches to sit
May have to go to a wreckers and scab a centre console from a VS Berlina or something. We'll see what happens
Highway Maxxs are well worth the moneyThey're even hard for ME to keep spinning for long ^_^ (unless I intentionally balls up a launch).
Thanks mateIt's not finished yet though. Those pictures are really a lot more flattering than I deserve them to be
Cruise control still works perfectly well
I transplanted the cruise cancel switch from the auto pedal box onto the manual one. Only catch is, if you depress the clutch, the cruise control keeps revving higher
But you know, who's going to be clutching on the freeway at 100 in 5th gear anyway? Not me.
Center console came with my manual conversion kit from the car the bloke was strippingI was lucky like that. They're hard to come by

Damn Morton thats good work. haven't read this thread for a while (had to go back about 4 pages) good to see you got it all sorted.
Having a few problems is a bitch but finding the solutions and fixing it yourself is even more rewarding. top work.
just to got back to the drive shaft issue, when i removed the engine/trans on my V8 i found the drivers side engine mounting bracket was bent and was causing the trans to sit fair way out of line and required a large bar to push the trans over to get the mount back on. removing the engine mounting bracket and bending it back in the press at work solved the allignment issue for me (should have welded a re-enforcing brace inside it but thats for the next time)![]()

Not slipping an inch. I'm getting the hang of good launches now, and it's an absolute dream to use. Bites nicely, and really holds on. I'm loving it - thankyou so much
I find the best launch with my current setup involves about two seconds of clutch ride before the dump. Works nicely off the line, and controls the wheelspin.
Thanks mateReally appreciate it. I jacked the car up and had a good look at the engine mounts. Everything to my eye, appears to be at right angles. I think perhaps my issue lies with the CV joint, which wasn't phased properly when it was reassembled. I gotta have it pulled out and redone/balanced properly at some point, but that can wait until I have an actual income
I'll take another look at the engine tomorrow, and see if anything appears to be a little funny. It wasn't leaning more than a couple of inches back when I had the trans out though, and it wasn't leaning back for very long (never left it like that without support), so if there's damage, I'm going to assume it's ageBut everything looked square when I got under there last.
UPDATE:
: reverse lights working
: centre console nearly all painted
: exhaust leaking like a beauty
: manual launches becoming better
to do:
: have tail shaft balanced and CV overhauled
: finish sanding and prepping centre console
: mount the goddamn window switches
: fix that exhaust leak

dude that is sic! i plan to do the same to my vs stato in a few weeks
Hahahha! The stato is now LOW!
Kings heavy-duty Superlows up the front, Lovells heavy-duty VT Superlows up the back, with Pedders shocks all round. All second hand, and cost me NOTHINGhahahaha
Those Lovells up the back are nice and thick, and although not dumped, they're stiff as anythingThe spring doesn't taper in width at all from end to end, and they're thicker than both the towing springs I had factory, and the Kings Superlows I had in the back before this. They're just HUGE, and hopefully this will take care of some of my axle tramp
(the Kings Superlows I was running in the back had that tapered comfort zone up the top.)
A big shout out to Hillerus for donating the rear springs
Also a big thankyou to Phoenix for help with the front changeover, and the blokes at Ford in the city for donating their rattle gun for removing the strut bolt
Behold: I've parked the car out on the street so I can see it out my window and admire it
