Rebuilt/balanced tailshaft was fitted tonight - Hozy can testify, it's like driving a new car! It's incredible!
Gear changes are smoother, and the annoying clunk from the centre bearing when I don't rev-match exactly, is now gone. I'm SO happy
Also needs new tyres now... >_>

OMG it's definitely time to change my 600,000km tailshaft!! I didn't know they could actually make a difference![]()

I wonder how much of your life you have lost playing rev matcher :P. What wrong with a bit of of a surge between gear changes??
hmm, just a small note, I thought my diff was on its way out again.. had it on a hoist today for a look-see, turns out the failshaft is causing my phantom backlash... thanks Morton for a heads up on something to look out for![]()

No worries Savage, it's not something many people ever touch in their car's lifetime.
Greenfoam, it's not lost time. I'm just a better driver for it nowAnd a bit pedantic... lol
New wheels go on the car tomorrowI'm kinda excited!

New wheels? the one's in the previous post or different one's? :P should look sweet man lol
Here's the new wheels. They're still on a 4 week trial, so we'll see how they grow on me.
Pros: The VQ Caprice rims are more "sleeper", they make the car look almost dead stock and have the correct offset at the back - therefore wider track width
Cons: looks a bit less "tough" in a way than the VN Calais rims, have a lot of clearcoat peel and alloy oxidisation, and I'm missing one centrecap
