hehe, I may need more than one bin though. If I'm going to reach my target of over 100kg, I may need three or four
Hehehe yeah, greenfoam's been talking to me about them too. The only catch is... well... they're stockies. and it's a stato.
The two don't mix![]()

hehehe, maybe. maybe. I'll experiment with it later
The tint and the low, I can do. And the fast.hehe
hehehe, I would have called that the only sensible way to treat a written-off VPStill, I see much nicer cars at the stains treated much worse than anything I did. No redlines for me

hahaha, we all know how you tread that wagon dioxide
Work started in earnest tonight on removing the sound deadning from the VQ. All pieces and mats are being kept in a large fibre garden bag, and feels around the 20kg mark after only half has been done
Pics to come soon. Both driver and passenger footwells are completely bare, and the centre console and trans tunnel area is smooth to the metal. Sounded wicked driving home without even the rubber grommets in the floor![]()

Anyone that has the balls to strip the tar out of a mint VQ gets maximum thumbs up from me, the force is strong in you young Mortus :P
Naaaah not crazy.
Okay, maybe crazy. But I totally know what I'm doing
Thankyou master foamus. Your endorsement is appreciated ^_^
It was a bit of a tough choice doing it to a mint stato. I had a bit of a gut-churning half-hour removing the seats and the console, but once I got in there and started hacking at the tar, it felt goodJust like it should.
Meanwhile, here's some ridiculous pictures of my fuel economy over the last week. 80% of this driving is to/from work in peak hour traffic. 60min each way. Average speed proves it isn't all highway.![]()

yeah, busy times in my life at the moment. I'm struggling to keep up with selling VP parts, let alone working on the VQ :P
ahhh I never knew that. Tried it, and the one you're speaking of was on 625The fuel tripmeter was set to read -.5, and the distance trip was set on a default 500.
hehehe... well:
got in there and did some servicing today. Changed spark plugs, leads, dizzy cap and rotor button.
The spark plugs looked about two years old, the leads were oily and pinched and worn, the dizzy cap was molested and the rotor button looked like someone had used it to engrave their name in a brick wall
HOWEVER: when I was in there changing the right-hand-side spark plugs, I noticed something strange. A little silver plaque bolted onto my passenger side headers.
I brought out the old mechanic's mirror, and held it up: "E - I - N - E - G"...
HOLY ****, GENIE! hahaha, seems my car was fitted with Genie Try-Ys and I didn't even realise
That should make for some nice go-fast once I get a decent 2.5" catback bolted on there
Also, now that all spark-related items have been changed, the car has a LOT more power. Didn't even used to do more than a chirp off the line with the foamtune, and now she bags them up beautifully and warps to 100kph.
The lost power is found againI can't wait to g-tech it.

bah! not a 2.5 exhaust. you need to do what the others are doing and get a twin exhaust off a vy ss and modify it to suit yours.
also, where my half hour call ya bastard! lol
1995 Manual HSV Clubsport
Wade Cam :: 9.2:1 CR :: Pacemaker headers :: Twin 2.5" Exhaust :: VT Brakes
1991 Supercharged VN Berlina
9 PSI SC14 Intercooled :: Genie headers :: Twin cats :: HM Twin 2.25 exhaust :: 3.45:1 LSD
nice ride.. good reading ur thread!!
not a bad idea
Are you serious, or are you taking the ****? Because if you're serious, I'll get someone in Melbourne to hold it for me. Dead set.
Thanks manHopefully once I get some moneys together later this year, she'll really start pumping!
It feels like a high-mid 6sec car at the moment. I'll have to get the G-Tech out to be sure, but it's really starting to move with fresh oil and good dizzy/sparky bitsAnd ofc it's got genies ^_^
I can't wait to throw the CAI and 3.7 gears in there. She'll be off like a rocket then!

nice job man, i'll keep an eye out for this thread, i wanna see how fast u can get this VQ going with alot of weight reduction and backyard mods lol good stuff
~ VN POWER ~ Click the scales
YouTube - nuisance
V8's feel faster with 205/65 wheels, thats a vid that my mate sent me (my old vq), he loves the stock tyres! Get some wider rubber and youll lean towards the 6 second barrier 0-100, you cant get a proper launch with the stockies...
