I had a dream you came to visit me in the HQ, I was at my parents house in the bush and I heard this vR RR R R R R R R LUMP GURBLE brRRRRRR comming up the driveway. And this HQ pulls up, pretty low HQ racer style painted retro white with a hint of like... Eucalypt green in the white. Tough asactually pretty much the colour of a Avocado smoothy:P white yet tinted green. Then you and your gf got out and then later you were giving it a rev it sounded insaneeeee heapsa power. OH! not only that you had driven it there straight from racing it and it still had a white paint pen on the front window with your dial in time "11.1"

Well, ladies and mentelgen, I have just done a compression test on the old girl - with surprising results!!
Cyl 1: 134.0
Cyl 2: 133.5
Cyl 3: 135.0
Cyl 4: 136.0
Cyl 5: 135.0
Cyl 6: 136.5
Cyl 7: 137.0
Cyl 8: 135.0
I can't freakin' believe it - over 300,000km and I certianly havn't touched the valve seats or rings. Either it's been rebuilt before, or DAMN GIRL!! she's just magic.
This raises the question of why oil continues to squirt out of my oil filler cap every time I drive above 4-5000rpm and only then.
Valve stem seals? Collets?
It piques my interest.
Either way, that's incredible for a dry/hot compression test. WOW.
Or it could be shit, I'm not sure - what's the recommended figure for a 304 compression test?![]()

dont our engines have a lot of trouble with oil being pumped to the top of the engine at high revs. theres a bit of info about it on SC i believe

Morton's computer is special and he can't get on SC. I never used to have problems with oil coming out the cap in my old 5L, and I drove that like I stole it as often as not; no idea what it could be caused by
Mind you, I'd consider it a healthy sign if anything, because mine DIDN'T do it, and mine blew up shortly post sale.
