My Statesman rims are stocko style, and 15", and therefore superior to anything else available on the market with no exceptions.![]()

It is sadBut the street IS cleaner without that thing sitting there
Yeah, hit in the back. Hard to tell from the photos, but everything back there is out of whack. even the rear windows don't meet up quite right with the quarter panel any more.
pfft, I wish it was a small impact. her car went UNDER me, which is why there's no huge impact markeverything sagged out of shape though. Electric mirrors were both good, but the surround and mount was shagged on both of them.
hehehe, yeah, it's a shame they wouldn't fix it. it was very fixable. Just a little bit of damage, but spread over a large area. It would have needed to spend many hours on a chassis puller, and need new bumper, exhaust, boot, tail-lights, reo, and a lot of chassis work to straighten out the quarter panels which sagged out.
Big impact, the car just took it well. In fact, the back of the car buckled so much, ALL the screws on the back of each tail-light popped out and tore from the plastic body of the lights. They're both held in only by tape and glue, but the back half of them is shattered from the impact.
That's about the same economy I'm getting at the moment tooWith the revised trip meter settings I was told to enter, she's getting anywhere from 12.2 - 12.5 average. I need to get out on the freeway more
In other news, I have gearbox work lined up to fix the current slipping issue. Given that the gearbox has done over 270,000km, has towed for most of its life, and has NEVER been rebuilt, I've decided it's time for a full workover before something bad goes wrong, so I'm arranging to have the gearbox torn down and rebuilt with fresh internals, and a stage-2 shift kit + corvette servo. Should be happening within the month. Will go nicely after that - it's the only thing stopping me!
And nobody try and tell me it's a waste of money - I'm getting it done for a low price - but I'd rather not discuss that around here these days with the things some people tend to say![]()

Nah, I don't need all that wizardry. I'm getting the work done dirt cheap by a trustworthy mechanic, but I see no need to buy things I won't need. I won't be downshifting the auto, and I won't be driving it any differently to the way I do now. The only time she'll be opened up is late on a Friday/Saturday night, and even then, people from the Vic Chapter will know I don't take my cars out and do loops every week, so it would just be money spent where it's not neededKevlar band may be worth it for $50 though. They're not that expensive hey.

The only 2 things that change the shift feel in that list are the shift kit & servo (which Daniel said he is getting)....All the rest have nothing to do with the shift and are NOT warranted on a stock 5 litre! The auto has lasted 17 odd years in that car, why does it need all that stuff in it now??![]()

I was actually quite impressed that this auto had lasted for 270,000km. It's been fitted out with over $2000 of custom towing gear, so it's not like the car had an easy life. But DAMN, that's not bad at all for a T700. If I can keep this car running on the stock trans for another 270,000km, then I probably deserve to have to do another rebuild
Cheers for the input though, it's good to know I'm on the right track here![]()

its either a servo or shift kit, add the 2 together and its overkill unless the box is strenthened quite a bit more than stock.. the wider bands would be a good idea though, just get a servo and boost valve and leave the valvebody the way it is will shift hard enough.
