Hi guys,
Just picked up my new ride and thought I'd post a couple of pics...
Bought it and drove it 1000km home faultlessly, very happy! Drove like your Nana the whole way home and managed 10l/100km with the 304 and auto...
Ripped plenty of Dove Grey stuff off the old girl and gradually replacing with plain jane series 1 black stuff - like elec side mirrors, door handles, clear grille replaced when I got home with new headlights (took HSV grille off).
Stuck some 15x6 with 205/65r15 Pirelli's on front and 15x7 with 225/60r15 Hankooks on rear, on new chasers that I painted up.
Has a nice Momo wheel, ABS/IRS, clarion CD, under guard coldair, Tri-Y's, twin cat exhaust, Koni's, Pedders rear springs, big tank, Recaro drivers seat recovered back to stock.
Paint is honestly 9.5 out of 10 with one dint in front guard that I reckon will push out.
Will retro fit cruise, new carpet, rip the tint off as it is ordinary, and refit all stock Exec bagdes to the boot (have already done front guard badges)...
Keen to know what u all think.

new tail lights... STAT!!!!
other than that, looks pretty clean. i would have kept the mirrors and handles as is though, much neater.
IRS Exec FTW, It's Mortons dream car, I agree with hakky on the mirrors and handles. Black is the winner there
nice find mate! ss wheel aswell! , i reckon thats probably one of the best colours in the vp range
Yeah I used to own a white VP Series 1 many moons ago, and always loved it when I saw a Dove Grey one.
Unsure about black accessories now - wanted to swap them to black but getting used to colour.
Will post a For Sale getting rid of colour coded 16's, letterbox grille, bonnet protector as a package I think.
Oh and definetly new tailights on the way too!!!
VP_Exec
That not a SS wheel, more like a group A? something like that anyway

Well looked after, some vx clear indicators, drop the rear and some 17 /18" rims would look nice... one of the best exec vp's getting around 4 sure.
Cheers.![]()
* RVN 355 *
The clear indicators! Of course, yes, they would be a good upgrade.
But ignore RVN 355, he's lying to you about the rims and the ride heightIt sits perfectly on ceptors at that height right now.

and if you're going to lower it, dont drop "just the rear", do the whole car. nothing says worn springs better than the front being higher than the rear unless theres a full load or caravan on the back.
Definantly new tail light lenses! Other than that, she is bloody clean.![]()
Thanks for the comments guys, yeah tailight lenses and front rotors tomorrow.
Not sure about clear side indicators - I did them on my VR but don't plan to put rims on the old girl - so indicators may not suit her....
But definetly stayin with chasers!
Will visit some Commodore wreckers on the east of Melb next week to grab a couple of back door ashtrays and centre console piece where coppers kindly drilled two holes! Who do u suggest fellas???
Got another set of bananas in the shed that I will get painted up nicely too, and swap em over.
VP_Exec
Yeah mate, head down to eastcomm wreckers out here in Ferntree Gully, or Comfrenzy down here in Bayswater![]()
Righto - will do mate.
Have you got new tail lights yet mate?![]()

Keep your slimy little hands off it Mortyif I ever break mine I want MY slimy little hands on this car, it might just be my new favorite car on JC since you broke yours
Not a bad car you have there. Good to see your not going to blingify it into queerness. Got any go fast plans, and times you wunna acheive?
Not bad.
I think that steering wheel is from the SV91. Hang onto it if you sell the car - people pay ridiculous amounts for original momo steering wheels when doing HSV restos.
Gidday boys,
Nah no tailight lenses yet...did a few other things first. New rotors and pads up front, new driveshaft boots, new rear uni, couple of front sway link kits (didn't notice the 1in huge sway bar!!). So she drives nicer all round.
Then driving home from work noticed the temp up over 3/4, so tapped the thermostat housing and she came good...ggrrrrrrrr So today ripped the housing off and replaced the thermostat.
Want to paint up a new boot for the VP, then came put all my shiny new boot badges on. Spolier holes are annoying me. Then tailights and boost up the Recaro a little.
While I was under there, noticed she runs twin Gen3 cats (bolt hole tabs for crossmember....previous bloke must have had some maybe??
Will replace exhaust tip with something else next week - bit large for me.
SV91 wheel you say MOR ?? Will get out some HSV stuff later and have a look!
Mack, I've got a HJ Kingswood playcar that has a 385hp 9.8 comp COME 355 with a 222 cam, singleplane HiWinder manifold, 700 d/p etc etc, toyed with HE sump and a 1000cfm throttlebody idea perhaps and then into VP, but just means I'd have to toughen the auto, big pipes etc....dunno Want to keep this as a neat daily and the HJ as a hottie.
VP_Exec
Just wanted to update you all fellas...the wheel is also a VN Group A one apparently (just badge is different) and as I've decided to do a bit to the old girl, I've stuck it on evilbay to raise a few bucks hopefully.
HSV possibly SV91 Momo Steering Wheel - eBay Steering Wheels, Horns, Interior, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 07-Jul-08 21:22:06 AEST)
Got new taillight lenses, all new globes, sold off colourcoded rims and HSV grille that came with the car. Looks heaps cleaner.
But the big news (for me at least) is that I've yanked the stroker (details above) and the TH350 and big convertor from the HJ Kingswood, and she'll be going in the BT1 in a fortnight or so. On the lookout for a decent sump to fit the TH350 and pipes and then slam her in.
Have bought a famous red VPSS's th350 to IRS tailshaft already...mod the crossmember and in she goes. Will run factory shifter, new custom speedo cable and ditch eng fan and shroud for Falcon thermos. (Need some info on this conversion too!!)
Also selling the HiWinder singleplane and will for the time being slam the bananas back on. Once a few things have sold, will invest in a COME manifold and snorkel. And yep, the stocky 304 and TH700 are going to live in the Kingswood!!
VP_Exec
Almost finished...the injected 355 and th350 and big convertor are now in the VP.
Added 4inches to the th700 crossmember and slipped the new tailshaft in and she's all go. Ripped the front bumper off - blanked off the tranny cooler points of the radiator and cleaned out tranny cooler and stuck some new high pressure tranny lines on. As the th350 was previously in a radical injected VC, the kickdown cable had already been modded to suit the bananas.
Had to add 3inches to the horizontal shifter rod, but other than that she's good as gold! Waiting on memcal from COME, then add fluids and enjoy the extra horsepower.
Was so easy lifting the car up on a mates hoist and dropping k-frame out.
Got shifter gear indicator out, making a new 'factory' looking 3 speed one.
Will see how it performs overall with the 3.08 LSD, if no good then will 3.45 it....
