Hey ya'll, well I have bought a non-rusted, straight as a dy & with 5 months reg, toyota lexceeeeeen 1989, same as a VN.. so yeah. anyhow, pic at the buttom of my post. I have replaced with a recoed engine and gearbox($750 total) then i replaced all the seals
First question:
I have put a cluster in that has the digital odometer or w/ever, thus it is not working(only the gauges, of course. Do I need to change the complete dash loom + ECU? can I somehow get it working using my loom(like maybe I just need to plug in a loom from another car into my loom and then plug it into the cluster(sorry long and confusing!)
Second Question:
I have a open diff, thus I am going to be putting in a mini spool(dont bother telling me how stupid I am, people have their own opinions, and I have mine, i've had one before and yes it gets annoying, but so does not going sideways :P) ---- what spline would be in my car? its a 1989
sorry for the stupid questions, i've never owned one of these things before.. i am a ford man! :P
I'll post up a new pic, what i've bought since i've owned it:
$900 bluetooth head unit
Alarm
GPS
clubsport rims
new engine and gearbox(old ones obviously rooted)
new front and rear rotors, pads, wheel bearings
woodgrain steering wheel
im tinting the windscreens 15% visibility this week, and fitting the alarm this week too,
i am buying new front and rear shocks and springs(mine are chopped at the moment) ... but i was thinking maybe superlows at the front and ultralow at the back, shortened shocks
Pretty sure it's a 28 spline diff mate![]()
Looking good, I like the colour - and somehow the black stockies work! Very clean. Enjoy every minute of it, seems like a nice clean ride.
