Hey, I'm Alistair,
I own a 1993 Toyota Lexcen, I bought it on saturday with 166,000km's on the clock, a few dents, and a cracked windscreen and a blown muffler. Picked it up for $1500...
In the last few days I have fixed:
The windscreen, had it replaced, cost $185
Replaced Battery, cost $120
Replaced Muffler, cost $20 from wreckers
Replaced tail lights, cost $20 each from wreckers
Replaced front indicator lens, cost $10
Replacing Grille on the weekend
Debadged it
And I think that about does it.
I am the second owner of this car, the previous owner was a old lady, who let her grandson drive it every now and then... was serviced when needed and have records of services.
I have not done any mods to it yet, future mods will include:
New stereo, head unit, speakers, sub, amps..
New grille
Some LED's/Neons in the boot and interior under the seats
Replace garnish
Hopefully change front bumper
Lower it a little
Some mags, don't like my hub caps :P
Here are a few pictures, tell me what you think, remember its basically still standard, not much, if not anything has been changed.

Wish my vp's paint was that good lol. Good low k's too.
Yeah paint work is quite good, scratched and dented in a few places but the back end is quite good..
It's not bad for coming off of Ebay, yeah the lexcen bumper is quite ugly, I perfer the back end of my car :P The car was quite a good deal
I see you hate the hudcaps that much that you didnt want them in the picture lol the bushes are in the way, also see u got some calais tail lights, and you didnt get stuck with the ugly brown interior, can u change the back of the car with a commodore black garnish? or is the boot shaped different cause that look crap all and all car looks good..... for a lexen lol J/K i got an idea for the grill... cut the plastic and make it into a letterbox grill and ditch the v6 badge.
~ VN POWER ~ Click the scales
Yeah the tail lights are nice, The boot is shaped the same, so I will be replacing the Garnish with a VN/VP garnish.
With the Grill my mate is giving me one, so hopefully that will be getting changed over in a few days...
And yes the hub caps are horrid, I didn't realise I had hid them until I took the picture :P lol. I can post a pic of the hub caps if you want...
I now have over heating problems..
Took it for a drive today and went to red...
Had a leakage of something onto the exhaust as well..
Here are some pics of work being done to the car at the moment.
Hope you enjoy
Nice looking car you got there mate. Whats going on with that door though? Is that a sticker. I cant figure it out. I agree with Bz kn33z. Just modify your original grille. Should save you some cash and look really good
the door has bog/filler on it.. the bottom picture shows u the dent that is just below the rear door... thats getting fixed... thats what that is
will do, should be end of the week hopefully
Here are the new pics of me fixed and painted doors, and me painted letterbox grilleHope you like...

Looks heaps better. Good job! Now all you need to do is give the car a rub down with rubbing compound and some cut and polishGrille looks great as well!
Yeh, just got it back today, and gonna leave it for a couple of weeks to make sure the paint is fully dry, kept undercover and will give it a wash and cut nd polish... should look good and shiny once its doneand thanks
I just got some new rimsWoo!!!

Nice man! Rims suit it really nicelyWhats next?
the good thing about Lexcens is that you get them cheap. Even the Newport model which is the same as a Calais go way cheaper than the Holden equivalents and a lot of them have the optional holden stuff like climate control and sunroofs as standard. I think the only hassle with this VP would be the front guards- which i think are different from normal VP Commodores so you couldn't change the indicator lights
1992 VQII Statesman
1991 VP Calais/ 1992 VP Calais
1992 VPII Vacationer Wagon
Yeah they are slightly different to a normal commodores front guards..
but hey at least its different.
dump it, you wont believe the difference it makes...
i hated taking pics before i lowered it, now i dont mind![]()
good work on the door and nice wheels you picked up.. whats next for it
Umm im nit sure yet...
Prob stereo or lowered or tinted windows...
sorry man but i had to use this on the colour of the door
Wont be there this week
