Gday all this iz me first post due 2 da fact i finally got my car.

I have an 89 executive pick it up for $2000 off n elderly couple.
has done 200,000 genuine ks drives good, havnt done anything major to it yet, all stock axcpt sony xplode sound system with 1000w sub, alarm and central locking system saas woodgrain wheel and alteeza tail lights, have a bit of cash to spend so need sum ideas on what to do next,looking at an exhaust system next but not sure iff i shld just get a cat back or full system. i no being a series 1 vn commodore there pretty noisy n hav a few rattles under the hood what can i do to get rid of this or get some grunt under the hood, cheers.

Ditch the V6, drop a 304 in it mate.

4 get the hub caps and tail lts get it back to stock with your stereo stuff!!!! 200,000 is good, treat it well and it should last a while yet.

vn's are not the smoothest car if you want comfort upgrade to a newer model commodore.

Looks like a good base to start with .
List of things i personally would do
1. paint bumpers body color or black
2. lower it
3. paint the stockies silver

Those 3 things should make it into a nice cruiser, an exhaust is good but sometimes when your driving around the police its not the best thing to have


btw, usually calling cops "pigs" will get you flammed on public forums and that attitude towards them will get you defected/fined, they do a hard job

Having a P plate on your window and driving a Vn commodore is an instant Defect, so calling a cop a pig isnt to harsh when commodores/P plate drives get branded as hoons it works both ways i suppose.

Put the standard tail lights in tint the sh1t outa them, full catback and pacemakers, manual Vs S/c CAI and foamy chip, and chasers

cheers rick yea that sound like a good start all i need now is time, i was thinkin of a vy clubby kit but dont mind the calais look, what paint is reccomended for painting bumpers.

and one for thing call cops ("pigs") is some what harsh there soome cops out there that do the right thing and cop ****. but theres just some out there that dont care n abuse there powers and really are just pigs! take it or leave every1 has an opinion.
