Talking My $550 VN Berlina - now worth abit more

    Hi,

This is my 1989 VN Berlina which I bought 3 months ago for $550 from a guy who had it sitting in his front yard. Now however it looks abit different to what it was when I first got it

    Colour: Alphine White
    Interior: Grey
    Odometre: 220454 km
    Exhaust: Stock
    Engine: Stock

    What Ive done so far:
    • Replaced conrod and main bearings
    • Replaced transmission (twice!)
    • Fixed odometer
    • Replaced timing chain
    • Replaced fuel pump
    • Resprayed hatch and bonnet
    • Usual Service - plugs, oil, filters etc

    Future plans:
    • Lower it 2 inches (Kingsprings)
    • Full stainless exhaust system
    • Cold Air Induction
    • New steering wheel
    • Speakers, head unit etc

Let me know what you think

Oh yeah and by the way I forgot to mention that I bought mags for the car - hence the picture of the mags lol

    Nice Bud,

I've got a wagon too and the same air freshener in the same spot lol. what type of rims are they and how much if you don't mind me asking?

Also is that a chrome grill, I have seen them on Ebay. It all looks really clean should be sweet once lowered.

lol true. Well I got the rims from Bob Jane. They were on special for $1059 with tyres. Fairly expensive I guess but they're brand new. The grille I got off ebay that cost me 60 or so odd dollars

    Smile Update - car painted

Painted the bonnet, rear bumper and the hatch over the weekend with alot of my Dad's help. We managed to wet sand and polish up the hatch and bumper but havent got around to doing the bonnet yet because Im caught in school exams at the moment. Should have it done by next week though but anyway here are some pictures for the moment. Will post some new pictures when the car is finished

    Talking Thanks

Thanks for the feedback guys! Appreciate it.

Probably not going to lower it quite yet. May do that later on when I have the money but definitely wont be cutting the springs lol. I need the car for everyday driving and its my only vehicle. Sort of going for a commodore that looks good but is still practical.

What would you need to do to the car if I wanted to lower it 2 inches. Would you need to roll the fenders? Im assuming so but it would be good to get some of your guys advice

Thanks man. Im looking at getting some sort of an exhaust system for it as the next upgrade. The mid muffler has holes in it so I thought I may as well replace it with a Catback or something but Im not sure if there any good?

2.5 catback single muffler is the way to go mate, Pacemakers make it sound abit more grunty to and even better in a manual

Took the VN for roadworthy and I was confronted with a rude shock. This is a list of whats I was told to replace, fit and fix:
    • Engine mounts
    • Front suspension
    • Steering wheel (rubber loose)
    • Mudflaps (supposedly all wagons have to have them?!?)
    • Window washer (which actually works - well it did when I got home and tested it)
Sucks, cause the VN will be off the road awhile longer
