    Default My VN V8 Calais. 11.2:1 Comp 304 :)

    this is my car. sadly im stripping it. has alot of shit done to it but basics are................

    11.2:1 comp 304, big cam + heads, harrop manifold, 1000cfm throttle body, 3" exhaust, 4000 stally, raceshift auto, 3.9 gears spooled. tuned by EFI dynamics. makes 220rwkw and its a 304 not a 355.

    my ute has a 3" exhaust on it. the calais only has 2.5" i need to chop my ute one up to fit

    because its cheaper the 3" and will do the job just as well

    Sweet vn calais by the way lots of power and great mods!!!

    ive spoken to afew people that who have been building engines for over 30 years and from what they have told me twin 2.5 inch doesnt realy flow that muh more than a single 3inch, twin 2.5 inch doesnt = 5 inch of exhaust i have a wrx that went 400hp or 300kw on a single 3 inch system , i belive u can make 350kw on a single 3 inch system before u will need to go bigger

    going single 3" because i have it sitting here. $1000 on a twin exhaust can be spent on my manifold instead or paint or rims. could be spent better on lots of other things but the exhaust can wait if needed. not running cats either so its got a bit more flow. made just a tad under 200rwkw with a 3" in my ute. so should be alright on the vn.

    engine was in this...........

    Agree about the 3" cost vs twin, i'm goin 3" though because i have a wagon so no twin for me.

    lol it was running but starter motor **** itself.

    i have a broken shoulder and collarbone atm so cant do anything. 3 more weeks and i can get back into it.

    going auto this time. with a 4000 stally and prob full manualised auto.

    lol good timing with the post. got it running yesterday. took it for a spin just before for its first wash not gonna drive it too much. will have to get the g/f to drive it as i lost my license.

    putting a 4000 stally in this weekend. such a slug with the stock converter.
