Clean looking ute you have there, How do you find the fuel economy with the SV3800 tune? When I had that tune in my car it went hard but used heaps of fuel.

SV5000 bumper looks good on the ute - first VG ute I've seen with that bumper

Yeah the fuel economy is good, as I take it easy due to the fuel prices lol.

    Thanks for the comments

    Default A slight update

Here is a before and after of the tail gate.

    Check out the shine

    And another interior pic.

It's slowly getting there. Can't wait to see it fully finished though! But I'm not going to take short cuts or rush it.

Looking good, did you sand it back yourself and fix up all the dints (If so, what did you ue/recommend? and your painting it outside?

Sure did, I used body filler to fix up all major scratches and dints. I also sanded back any rust that I found on the rear tray and treated it with "Rust Converter".
The prep work has taken me 2 weeks so far to do. I have used all sorts of sand paper, such as wet and dry and just normal sand paper. I used the harsh stuff to strip off the clear coat and wet and dry to smooth it down.

As for painting, I'm making a enclosure with the car port, with drop sheets to keep the dust and crap out.

As for the paint job, I'm using Wilso's method and paiting it with a roller

Yeah, I was thinking of those clear rear lights from ebay, that you can pick up for $60 as I think it they would look great up against a black paint job!

I was pricing those hard covers, and they are like over a grand. Thats very expensive!

Today, the first coat of paint goes on! YAYYYYYYYY

yeah, I think their around $100 or something, but as long as it's sturdy enough to stay up for a few months while I paint, i don't mind spending the money...and it's something I could use later on down the track...

EDIT: Something like this...except this is in QLD and only one on ebay that I could find, http://cgi.ebay.com.au/3x6m-Portable...d=p3286.c0.m14

That would be a top buy!!!! I went to put up some drop sheets around the carport today, to keep dust out. I went inside for some lunch and came out to find them torn apart because of the very high winds that we are having here today. I was so p*ssed off as it took me two hours to put them up with a staple gun. Oh well, I will see how tomorrow goes

Yeah tell me about it! Regardless of drop sheets, I need to at least get a top coat on the roof today, as its down to bare metal and I'm worried it will start to get surface rust.

With the small parts though, I have been putting card board over the kitchen table and painting on that lol. The paint fumes give you a great nights sleep as well! lol
