    Thumbs up In The Process Of: Roller Painting My Car.. Take A Peek =)

    Hey Guys thought id make a thread as i go on my little mission to rollerpaint my car Inspried ofcourse by the brilliant thread DIY Painting your car with rollers By Wilso

    Il explain the status of each part of the car so its easier to understand where i am at

    So here we go...So Far...

    Project Begun: Tuesday Nov 11th

    Dissasembled; Bonnet, Boot, Front Guards, Boot Garnish, Side Mirrors, Grill, Bumpers. Front headlights, Rear Headlights, Petrol Door

    Removed: Side door black trimming, which ripped off some of the paint at which i cursed, oh well and the spoiler...it just had to go

    STATUS OF...
    Front Bumper: Wetsanded down with 180 grit, yet to be primed and sanded down with 400 and 800 grit for painting

    Rear Bumper: Wetsanded down with 180 grit, yet to be primed and sanded down with 400 and 800 grit for painting

    Bonnet: --COMPLETE-- All Sanded down nicely to 800 grit. Will Sand down to 1000 Grit in final stages.

    Grill:--COMPLETE-- All Sanded down nicely to 800 grit. Will Sand down to 1000 Grit in final stages.

    Boot: --COMPLETE-- All Sanded down nicely to 800 grit. Will Sand down to 1000 Grit in final stages.

    Boot Garnish: --COMPLETE-- All Sanded down nicely to 800 grit. Will Sand down to 1000 Grit in final stages.

    Petrol Door: Sanded down with 180 grit, primed, yet to be sanded down with 800 grit yet

    Front Guard Left: Wetsanded down with 180 grit and primed, ready for body filler

    Front Guard Right: Wetsanded down with 180 grit and primed, ready for body filler

    Car Roof: 180 grit sanded, primed, yet to be 400 grit sanded back

    Car Door Left Front: YET TO BE STARTED

    Car Door Left Rear: YET TO BE STARTED

    Car Door Right Front: YET TO BE STARTED

    Car Door Right Rear: YET TO BE STARTED

    Rear Car Panelling: YET TO BE STARTED

    from a cheap resprayed white that the guy i got it from had done to make it looks a little better, to a glossy white

    im looking forward to seeing this aswell, ive seen the results before and came out fantastic.......
    i was thinking about doing it at one point but couldnt get off my ass and start it lol

    Bonnet: Wetsanded down with 180 grit and primed, ready for body filler at some parts.

    Grill: Wetsanded down, cracks reglued, primed and finishing 800 Grit Westanded ready for painting.

    Boot: Spoiler removed, wetsanded down with 180 grit and primed, ready for body filler over the spolier holes.

    Boot Garnish: Removed off of boot, sanded down with 180 grit, primed then sanded down again with 800 grit, ready for painting.

    Petrol Door: Sanded down with 180 grit, primed, yet to be sanded down with 800 grit yet

    Front Guard Left: Wetsanded down with 180 grit and primed, ready for body filler

    Front Guard Right: Wetsanded down with 180 grit and primed, ready for body filler

    Car Roof: YET TO BE STARTED

    Car Door Left Front: YET TO BE STARTED

    Car Door Left Rear: YET TO BE STARTED

    Car Door Right Front: YET TO BE STARTED

    Car Door Right Rear: YET TO BE STARTED

    Rear Car Panelling: YET TO BE STARTED

    How long have you allowed yourself? I started mine weeks ago, but I really have enjoyed it, apart from the weather! The weather has really been sh*tting me off big time!

    But good on you for giving it a go! Also, follow wilso's instructions as they really work!!!

    yea i kno, but i got a sh**load of time to do it, like, im not getting rid of it nytime soon, plus i jsut bught a vl 5spd so i cng et around, but work atm...man...its hectic...im sitting on 60hr weeks atm labouring and the weather is killing me lol il take a look at ur ute now

    Hey guys,
    soz for late pics, ive been busy, ltierally, ave a look at the pics and lets see what you got to say

    This is most of the stuff sanded and primed, the bumpers and trims etc arent there but il get pics up soon enough, guards arent there either and i havent started on the doors yet

    whats the pink stuff on the panel joins? maybe you could look into sealing them up so theyre nice and smooth, along with the joins near the bottom of the window at the back.

    the pink stuff is bog filler i hadnt sanded and primed that bit it was drying at the time of the pics

    i kno man but, the cost to find an engine that i need, get it installed, get the bodykit, spray the car...its just easier to buy a predone car and im thinking VY anywasy, not as much hassles.

    Don't be a QUITER! Look how far you've come! Think of the acheivement when its done mate, you did it all yourself, not some crappy VY that you bought! YOU CAN DO THIS!!! Just concentrate at doing what you've got now, don't worry about kits and engines atm! Step by step mate!

    thanks mack, but its already stripped lol. took it all out today, even tinted windows and selling them off, taking out the gearbox and manual setups on sunday and selling off then scraping the car, id post on parts for sale in the trading post area but not been a mem for 3mnths lol
