Well well well, lgnd3800 returns. Weren't you permanantly banned under the username "lgnd3800"????

You won't need a high stall for a V6 with no big power, cam and compression MIGHT see you JUST keep up with a bog stock 5 litre. And straight through cat? You mean a straight through muffler? Unless you gutted your cat and ran straight pipe through it? In which case would sound like **** and is pretty bloody illegal. I hear your car has a nice yellow sticker on it currently as it's sitting in your driveway.....

At least with a slightly warmed over V6, he might just make it out of the way next time a bus comes at him

hey! its lgnd3800! Didnt you get banned?
I personally wouldnt both with the shift kit, it only holds the revs slightly higher. Id just get a corvette or billet servo for the 1-2 shift, and if your keen the 2-3, 3-4. Its not really needed on the 2-3 and above because the revs arnt that high. But the servo will make good use. 10:1 compression is easily achieved. run a shaved head - 40thou should do, and high comp flat top pistons. That will get you close, while the block is bare you might as well get it dipped to clean it all up. Replace everything that needs doing and anything that might need it soon. As for the cam, if your going to go so big that you need a high stall then your going to be spending big on a tune and getting the box built for power.
My old VS box has bigger bands and clutches, bigger valve bodies etc, but standard stall limit, stage 2 shift kit and mild servo. that cost me about $2500 for the build. But would handle the power.

While you have the heads off you might as well get the die grinder out and make them flow a little better, dont go too deep otherwise you risk cutting into the water jackets. And that will **** your engine.

not sure why you watse so much money on a V6 all your going to do is after spending all that money kepp up with a 5lt. If you ever come up against a 5lt that has tune and headers then your screwed.

take my advice, sell the heap, buy a push bike (road will be safer for us all). the money saved you could get some driving lessons.

Once you have done driving lessons you could then buy a real car and that would be something with a V8, and if you think you can handle it get a LS1. but from the history i have seen you might be better of with the push bike.

I'd say he would be safer walking. But he might step in front of a bus LOL.

yer fair enough mate, problem is getting professionally ported and shaved heads is about $1000, getting them shaved is about $60 lol. If you can get a set of heads from the wreckers and take them out a little with a die grinder then its worth it, Make sure you only take small amounts at a time though. Also get a set of valve seat cutters. 3 Angle seats are good for a little extra flow and a couple of kw. Not alot, but every little bit helps and they are tools you will continue to use on other engines etc.

V6 make a great family car for getting the kids to school and back. they are far from a performance car. Take my advice and dont waste your money on it.

Just drive it till you get your full licence then the money you save you could buy something with a V8. I have been there and done that with cars over the years and i still wish i just drove my underpowered engines and waitied till i could have a v8. i would then have had plenty of meny for mods to the v8.

You must remember you are starting with less than 100rwkw. No matter what you do you will have to spend very big dollars to acheive what a ls1 has with just bolt ons. Plus imagine if you do acheive good power how much of a pig it will be to drive and not to mention how much attention you will get from the law.

I currently have 220rwkw with just bolt ons. drives easy does not draw attention. To acheive that kind of power out of your v6 your have to spend more than i paid for the wagon and then it will not be useable as a daily driver

eh, v6s go allright turbod or supercharged, otherwise its not really worth playing with.
Nothing beats smashing v8s with ur "great family car for getting the kids to school and back"
Turbo v6s are smooth, good on fuel, make easy power, lots of torque, turn lots of heads and raise lots of questions like,
    What the ****?
    Why did that just dose?
How did that seeming standard vn-vr just spark up the rears and go sideways 60km?
although its not all that cheap....

Going by the last time we heard from you on SC you told everyone you didn't, if you had a defect on your car, i imagine it would have been cleared by now considering you love your car and would want to drive it a bit.....
