    Default My 92 VP Calais

    Hey...

    This is my girl

Its a 92 VP Calais had it for nearly 2 years now. Has served me well over the time, has been very reliable and a clean runner.

    Motor: Stock V6

Interior: pretty much stock besides an Isotta sports wheel

    Wheels: 17x7.5 7 spoke

Stereo: Pioneer head deck 12" pioneer sub and a 15" US Audio sub

    Exhaust: Stock exhaust

Suspension: Brand new Gas shocks with lowered king springs in the front, and LL industrial springs in the back (really nice ride imo)

    Brakes: standard

Atm all i really need to do is paint the grille, get a new exhaust tip and do the roof lining.... been caught up doin other stuff so grille painting didn't go to plan

thank god i dont have the stockies anymore :P

    much appreciated guys.

Yeh Calais_cruisn yours was the first car i looked at from the site.. and i thought the same thing... ures is VERY nice Btw... love it.... i got a HUGE soft spot for VP's and yours put a smile on my face
the paint on the car isnt as flash as it looks on the pics. I am actually a detailer on and off, it makes me good at getting the best out of what i got..

PS i love the site.. has great content and decent amount of members... hope to go on some cruises in the future.

    Looking very nice mate.

some reccommendations that will set the car off:

Debadge it - make it look clean.

Paint grille - I did it to mine and it looks soo much better than the ugly plastic.

as mentioned an exhaust tip always looks nice.

nice paintjob on a nice car so plenty of potential

Funny how I noticed it was in South Australian from the design on the shed before I saw the plates . Looks shiny. Bootlid out of place, this is just too gay to notice things liek that

could have been tapped going by the extra large than normal gap between the body and rear bumper (also could have just had the bumper or bootlid itself taken off and reattached at some point) question is why?

I would show you a fantasic picture of export quality VN's lined up on a wharf with 5 times the gap that boot has on every single panel but I cant find it. Panel alignment wasn't a strong point with Holden in those times

To answer your questions about the boot lid, the car has had a rear end collision at some point in its life... I have noticed it out of place, but i thought it was just me bein picky. and like i said the paint is a lil rough especially at the back so leads me to believe there was a prior accident.

    Looks good.

Can't see anything wrong with the paint, even the chrome looks good all round.

i got a quote to get the rims polished $90 each.. and it got me thinkin.. i need new tires anyway, so why not go and get a wheel and tire package... the tires i was lookin at where $120 each.

    So 4 tyres = $480
    Polish x 4 = $360
    = $840

so for a lil xtra could get a nice set of 16-17"s...

But i didnt really wanna do that seeing as i wanted to keep a nice stock look

lol but gta make a decision cos i hate havin stockies at the back sitting on retreads....

and i reakon u need to loose the calais badge aswell, so its even on both sides, but she looks nice otherwise

yeh i had a nice twin tip muffler at one stage, it was on my cordia turbo.... but have no idea where i put it, i think i left it in the back seat of the cordia when i sold it after i crashed it. oh wells, nice muffler tips are only a couple hundred aye...

Gettin new rims this arvo, but i honestly dont think they suit a VP.. so if they dont ill put them up for sale in the trade section for a lil less than i bought them for, i think they would suit a VS VR more so than VP calais.. Although u need 20 posts which i rekon i have even tho it says i have only 2... which is strange.... but anyway done some measurements and looks like the rims would fit snugly under the guards... and i will pst some pics and you guys can tell me what u think

Theres different sections where the posts count. Technical threads as such. My ride posts don't count.
