thought i'd share my little project....

88 vn cal...the car had a few probs so i got it cheap..most of the probs i fixed with out spending money..

this is what it looked like when i got it





So far i have tinted the windows in 15% thanks to Performance tint..does all types of custom work in perth..

got a set of 17's on 235/45/ tires..

2.5" zorst..that rattles like hell

chopped 1 coil of the front and 2 of the back..prob take more of the front and then maybe look at some new springs..

this is how it looks now





plans are maybe a 5.0 swap...

thx man..i'll put up some interiour pics tonight..electirics werent to bad..1 window dont work ..A/c,CC all work..speedo gets stuck..the digital display has some damage but there easy to replace..

one reason i got it cheap is it kept getting a flat battery..i put my multi metre on it and it was fine but i told the car yard it was gone..the prob was the boot light stayed on and ran the battery flat..lol

my dog is a legend..he come with me every where..even bush bashing.

wow.... ure in a bit of a situation in that pic hahaha..... i like to take my dog places with me cept when she ****es me off and leaves hair ll over my seats lol..

yeh windows can be a bit of a problem.. i had the motors replaced and was like sweet... then i discovered that the doors wherent hung properly and are har to shut.... well its good if u have worked out the kinks... im guessing that this car is ure daily?

Interior doesnt look too shabby at all shame bout the dash.. but well if u are confident enuff to fix it ureself then go ahead lol.. i can tell its ure daily cos the VL looks.... errr..... ahhh.. shall i say outta commision??? hahaha

dash is ok except the digi crap..i think its had heat damage..when i got it the rev neddle had fallen of so i put that bk..so pulling the dash apart isnt a prob..quite easy...

i found out today that i am the 3rd owner of it..the first owner was a company that got it for 33 thou brand new..

the inside is in really good nick..no holes in the leather seats...every thing works includng the cig lighter and read demister...


i dont mind taking my dog out bc at the end of the day its only a car...plus he makes a good alarm..

the vl is at should i say a stand still in the build..undecided what to do with it..maybe sell it..

gunna chop some more outta the front springs this weekend..was going to put my springs outa my vl in as some one told me that they would fit..it has kings...good ol rock hard kings..

it is my daily..i want something that is gunna start every day and be a joy to drive..my vl had a locker and ws low so it wasnt a nice car to drive..only in circles in a car park..

the rear springs will fit, not 100% sure on the fronts though mate, looks good. love the white over silver vn calais

Nice Calais mate, great choice of colour, nice rims too, mind me asking where you picked them up from? Any future plans for the VN?

i got the rims of a mate whos brother got them of a car that was gunna get crushed..so i got them pretty dam cheap..but i didnt get any centre caps..

only plans i have at the mo is drop the front some more...gotta fix the zorst bc it rattles on the sway bar...

and get the box serviced..it's a bit lazy changing gears..
