    Default VP Calais II, getting fixed.

    everything mentioned here is as i bought the car so im not taking credit for his work but i'd like to hear your opinions on it...cheers, enjoy the read.


    Model: 1993 Vp Calais II

    Build Date: cant be bothered checking... one of the last builds.

    Colour: Alaskan Essex White Over Personalized Silver.

    Engine: standard Buick 3800 V6

    Gearbox: standard 4 spd auto TH700

    Diff: standard unfortunately

    Exhaust: 2 1/2" cat back system, unsure of brand

    Brakes: standard

    Suspension: King Spring SSSL rear, Lovell fronts.. unsure of shocks

    Wheels/Tyres: 17" vt calais internationals, 235/45s

    Interior: standard blue velour

    Stereo: pioneer headunit with ipod, Sony Fronts/Kicker Rears and 10inch Kenwood Sub and Sony Amp

    Other: Fitted and professionally paint "international" body kit (VP SS front bar with foglamps, VP SS skirts and rear apron and vq statesman lip spoiler), cold air intake, dark tint windows, mirrors and spates repainted, factory sunroof, WK side indicators, colour coded grill and door handles

    Future Mods: extractors, shiftkit, LSD 3.9s maybe, lower the front a little more, all that , if ive still got it when im off my p's the dream is 5ltr in, 355 stroker, COME twin throtts, big cam, B&M quickshift etc etc... the works(fingers crossed)

    1 word: YES!

    if you want interceptors, i got 4 with pretty much brand new tyres. will swap for those nationals

    Aww how nice is that white, its like soo soo white, its beautiful.

    dont be a tight arse and run cop rims ffs the inters looks sweet bit over priced but it looks clean, nice first car

    yeah i realised 7 is a bit steep but i figured i figured seeing as how its alrdy got everything i wanted to do anyways from the international kit to rims lowered stereo etc etc i'd pay the 7 n save myself a load of f***ing around. plus its clean as, been treated well and if i had have baught a cheaper one n done all this myself i'd end up spendin heaps more.

    put the king SSSL's on the rear last night, looks better

    thanks for ya comments guys, glad to here you like it.
    little update i guess, took the car down to pedders the other week to get my warped front disc n power steering checked out cos its a bit wonky at the mo. apparently the previous owner got a dodgy fix a while back, n apparently the bloke put the wrong p/s rack in it, its meant to be variatronic or somethin, but ive also been told that the rack shouldnt matter n it may just be the pump or fluids.
    but yeah pedders said all the upper and lower bushes in the front end are basically f***ed, the lower rear bushes are too i think, bent Z bar (never heard of one? anyone know what it is?) umm rear springs not trapped (doesnt bother me) steering gear tight (obviously) and yeah the disc.. but for all this they quoted me $1600!! i thought this seemed a little over the top? but im new to owning a car so i may be wrong... what do you guys reckon?
    i booked it into a small mechanic to check it out but gotta wait til april.
    also what sort of fuel economy are you guys with vn/vp/vq v6s getting. cos im gettin nearly 14L per 100kms and no matter how softly i drive it it wont budge down but i put my foot down a couple of times n it goes up another point...

    Even though you bought it for 7g you will always mod the car more and it will cost you a mint, bushes on most of the older commdores are always stuffed and most likely factory fitted and never touched. $1600 sounds steep to me, but i am a tight ass
