Spend time and get all the door, bonnet, bootlid alignments 100%, should be alright. In calling the car a time capsule sure, if you keep it original or within VN Executive options

Certainly not going to waste time and money with door gaps etc....at the end of the day its not a rare 356 Porsche or similar its a Commodore, the time capsule was more a reference to how it was when I bought it and i cant change the title as now I guess its more of a BT1 mock up

Any links to some good info for fitting the tank, or did you nut it out yourself?

    Cheers

Couple of problems fitting it, the tank i got was out of a IRS VS so the passenger side strap is different..
I basically cut and spliced the standard strap and the long range tank strap..
The sender / pump plug were also different so had to cut and splice those..
I also had problems with it cutting out but a new fuel pump seemed to fix that..

a 80 litre tank is a VN Executive option, with adjustment if the car hasn't been in an accident before its pretty simple, just the rubber adjusters on the inside of the bonnet and boot, the doors its just the locks and strikers to adjust, makes a lot of difference, besides the radio, the VP SS steering wheel and the debadge the car's stock, just a suggestion.

with the problems you had with fitting the tank, on cars with a trip computer the pump and wiring is different, also depends with VN as some have an internal and external pump, you look to have sorted it out so thats alright

love how clean this looks, good to see a non-beaten VN! And finally dress rings on interceptors that don't look taccy... I think it's the white on chrome that makes it work well

Very nice mate, and so clean. I believe that there are cars like this out there still that are in mint condition with low kilometers.

I went to a car yard a couple of years ago, they had a show room with a few cars in it, and among them I found a VC Commodore that looked like it just came out of the factory, and it had very low kilometers. They wanted $6000 though, but it was probably worth it because it looked brand new still.

The centre consoles never seem to be the same once you start playing around with them. Mine developed some bad squeaks, i found some carefully applied wd40 does the trick, and wipe up the excess then just clean it up with a bit of armoroul. Seemed to just stop the friction between bits that didn't line up quite as well going back in.

I think it looks better with the standard wheel.

Also i'd look into a dash matt, the dashes on these crack pretty easy and tend to warp around the speaker grills. Needs some nice plush lambswool covers too, my father in law just had some made up, payed a silly amount for them, but they are like sitting on a cloud
