Why do people remove the Aircon out of their cars??

sorry to ask, but ive seen a few people that have completely removed the aircon and heaterbox's from their cars?..

why dothey do this?....AND...how do they have a demister when they remove the heater box?

The last time I had my car checked for rego (pink slip) they tested to see that my demister worked so I assume you need a demister.

get heater tubes similair to the ones on the rear window across the front window.
