What is normal operating temp? in degrees celcius please! :)

Hey guys,

I've put a VR V6 engine into an old E21 BMW. I've fitted an aftermarket water temp guage, and i need to know what is normal operating temp for these cars.

It's currently sitting on around 105 degrees, which i feel is a bit high in this cold weather.

the fan should kick in around 100 or just over and bring it down to low 90's to high 80's when driving it should be between 80-100 well it should be at the temp of the thermostat which is at least 82-86 degrees.

Assuming you're using the standard 91*C thermostat I would have said to expect an operating temp of around 98*C so its probably a little high but not by much.

i know its not relevant... well sorta...

my old bike (2005 model japanese bike) had a digital temp gauge. 90 deg was normal. 100 was hot and in traffic running... and if it got up to 107 - 110... thats really hot... it never did get that hot, even in summer.

i got it sorted now anyways, got a bigger radiator
