    Default Exhaust Canon

I have a stock V6 series 2 commodore, all I have done so fair is put in a K&N panel filter, nothing special.

I was looking at getting a 2.5' ehaust system put on from the cat back, however I have been reading that it can take a way a bit of power down low. The engine seems to run pretty damn well for its age and basically the car has been kept immaculate. Im not really looking to increase power too much at the moment but just want a beefy exhaust note.

I was just curious on how it would sound it I just put a canon on the stock exhaust? I know most canons are for 2.5' systems but surely they can adapt them to fit the stock 2 1/4' systems.

I know some people don't like canons on commodores and really not many around have them. Has anyone heard one on a stock exhaust? Without changing any of the mufflers do you think it would change the eshaust note by much?

Thanks alot. If anyone has any pics of their commodore with a canon on it I would be interested in seeing them.

    Cheers.

mate the cannon looks fully sick with a dumped car and body kit, if ur after the ricer look... i saw a maroon vr with a clubsport kit dumped riding on 18s with a rice cannon, looked pretty good
haven't heard it though - it's always parked whenever i see it..

cannon muffler on a stock commodore (no bodykit or lowered) looks crap. It hangs too low from the rear bumper. Your best bets it to remove the rear muffler and put an exhaust tip on the end.

This will give you some noise without loosing any power.
Some people say less talk more action, i say more torque less traction.

Ok, I had a standard exhaust on a 93 vr wagon and put a 4 1/2 inch cannon on it. It changed the note slightly, but sounded rather quiet compared to what I was expecting. So the other day, I went and got the resonator taken out and a 2 1/2 inch cat back to the cannon without any resonators and it sounded a lot deaper but wholly shit does it drone like a ma fugga. I put it on youtube YouTube - Commodore Cannon is just the cannon and YouTube - Vr Commodore Cannon Pt 2 is after the resonator and cat back done. mind you theres no extractors ot hi flo cat yet. hope this helps you or at least gives you a sound to work with.
