Default Car loses speed down hill

    hi all

weirdest thing has been happening to my commo

seems since i got these mods donw recently:
    Pacemaker headers
2.5" cat back Lukey sports exhaust
Pedders sports ryder suspension all round

my car now slows down when i let it go (no brake or accelerator) down a hill

for example, on F3 it slowed from 120 to 116 in about 10 seconds
on the M2 it slowed down from 100 to 94 in about 6 seconds

are the rear wheels out of alignment? are the new headers providing some sort of exhaust braking?

    wtf is going on!?

I'd be a bit worried about my transmission or my motor if the car did not slow down whilst going downhill with feet off the pedals. If you feel this should not be happening try going downhill in neutral or angel gear (so called because it can be dangerous and you may meet an angel quicktime!). Could it be that after the mods you are more aware of how your car is responding.

Like hako said, the trans should pull the car up a little as driving downhill anyway.

Those mods should make any difference to this though. as siad, maybe your just taking note of it more now

Its funny, since i put the new exhaust on my statesman (V6) cruise drops out more frequently.....

Set cruise @ 110km/h and if going down a hill the cruise will drop throttle because car is actually speeding up (due to drop of back pressure in exhaust perhaps).

I live in the county and drive the same road everyday (27km's into town). The trip home it used to drop off the throttle with cruise twice. Now it does it in 5-6 different locations and fuel efficency seems to have also improved.

Something to ponder. or am i the one with a mehcanical problem?
