G-day i would like to know the best way to take off like i have herd put it in 3rd and then put it in drive? could i please get some words here cheers!
Put it in drive and press the accelerator.....
its an auto.. AUTOmatically shifts
dont need to do anything special for normal driving conditions
Agreed, there isn't much to know about driving an auto. Usually around the city (under ~70kmh depending on conditions) I keep it in 3rd but thats about it
EDIT: There was a thread the other day about launching VN/P autos. Maybe you could do a search and read over that

Manual shift it, or leave it in overdrive and drive the car. It's a V6 auto with a "tune", there isn't much to it.
If you are the same guy who posted that other thread and are referring to dragging your V6 don't bother, most people at the dragstrip (unless they also drive a stock V6 auto) will laugh. If you MUST drag to prove something (on a dragstrip i certainly hope), then manual shift it. If you dunno how to do that, leave it in overdrive and hope that a tornado comes and pushes your car along the dragstrip.

If you have never been to a dragstrip, you have no idea how much fun it is (regardless of how fast your cars is).![]()

hope it helps
Whattttttttt? Putting it in 3rd puts the revs up higher, therefore using more fuel and stuffing things that abit more quickly. Put it in drive and leave it in drive. Unless you are going up a nice steep hill then knock her into 3rd or having to quickly over take someone.Hey my mechanic told me keep it in 3rd unless im driving in the country then put it in drive. thanks guy lmao wasnt going to drag the thing just like going on long drives just checking up on the thing about 3rd
the reason why members on here say to leave it in 3rd round the city is so the box isnt constantly changing up n back down, plus the the engine/box will labour in overdrive. it is a known fact to disregard overdrive city driving. overdrive (4) is mainly for open road![]()
Meh, i always leave it in overdrive city driving. Unless i feel like manual shifting it.

To any one who says that you can achieve a faster 0-100 or 1/4mile time or whatever, by manaully shifting an auto, i'd really like to know, what's steering the car while your doing this??
um , your right hand LOL , unless you are insinuating they have their right hand on their sausage ?
Like what has already been said here; put it in 3 for city driving and D for hi-way driving. If you have a hand book, have a look in that. It tells you which gears to use.
im really really confused about this one...unless ur right arm has been chopped off for some reason
why would two hands be off the wheel to change gears?
one to push the button and one to move it up?
and even still, if both arms werent on the wheel, im sure ppl have got wheel allignment thats not going to drive them at right angles
ur post is one to say wtf at![]()
Was greenacr the only one to understand????

Lock it into second as you round a corner, then slam the accelerator and turn the wheel from side to side.
get a manual

i had a mate tell me that you have it in 3 all the time and d will make it shit itself....i laughed
lol, i saw the old power button myth pop up again. IT DOES NOTHING ABOVE 80% THROTTLE.
WTB: mulberry VN interior parts
yes it is set to shift at the same speed at above 87%TPS weather its in power or economy.i drive in 3rd around town and 4th on the highway saves the engine labouring round
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
it's all about saving yor engine... after mod's to engine and tweek's in the gear changing (i have it changing when i want it) you don't want it labouring around the place or chopping between 3rd and 4th all the time. if i'm in town it won't go into 4th on light acceleration till i'm doing roughly 60kmh. if i'm not going to hit 60 for a while i leave it in 3rd which yes, also help's with braking. why wear out expensive pad's all day? if you want to know what work's best for you on the strip then there is only 1 way to find out mate.... get into it and get used to what work's best. changing up the gear's yourself will be best on the strip, you just gotta keep your eye on that rev counter so you change up before the rev limiter cut's in.
