G'day Blokes. Do springs settle much coz i just finished installing some super low springs and it's sitting 50 mm higher (at the rear) than it was with FE2's at the moment! Been bustin' me chops all day! Haven't taken it for a drive yet coz I've gotta wait 'till tomorrow to get calliper parts. The front is still on stands. Please put my mind at ease![]()
They wont settle down to the FE2 height and then down to the height they should be. Doesn't sound good. Check part numbers with the pdf on web site. Having said that, after you drop car down from jack, it will sit very high. Needs a quick drive to come down, then about 2 weeks to settle.
Thanks Bowtie. I was very carful to get correct part numbers ( got them off King Spring online catalogue and they had '''''SL printed on the part number on the spring) and the springs were physically a lot shorter the the FE2's when I stuck them in. I guess I'll just have to wait 'till I get her down and go for a fang. Just thought it would be at least as low when I dropped it. We'll see. I will be bloody spewing if it sits higher.![]()
Another interesting fact about springs, shorter springs aren't always lower. If it is a higher rated spring (stiffer), it can actualy sit higher than what it replaces because the factory one is so soft that it sags heaps and would end up sitting lower unladen. Also SL should be quite low but in another model it might not be considered super low as the spring is already shorter to suit. Read through the whole pdf and you will see what else your springs suit that wont be considered super low for that specific application.![]()
Yeah should be all good.Just had another look through KHRL-46SLHD. Maybe I'm spinning over nothing.
Got it off the stands this morning and took it for a spin. The rears went down to the same hieght as the FE2' were and the fronts 10 mm lower. Once it settles it should be prett low I think.....grouse.
