cleaning maf sensor with sum metho ?

hi guys im poor at the moment and was wondering if i could use sum metho in a spray bottle to clean my maf sensor wires ?i figure itll be ok as it leaves no residue any ideas cheers muz

hey mate, not sure about metho but the el-cheapo degreaser from supercheap worked on mine and another fella's on here, so maybe give that a shot.

Personally i wouldn't use anything that will leave a residue. Metho should work, but degreaser will probably leave a residue.

A site which I think would be very helpful is (AA1Car Auto Repair Diagnosis Help). It has info on sensor and engine management. It says using an electronics cleaner can often restore normal operation. Maybe an alcohol base cleaner like the stuff used to clean video heads.
It also tells what problems you might get with a faulty sensor.
