    Default 1st, 2nd, 3rd and overdrive?

    gday,

    i drive 1996 VS Equipe and was wondering what gear is best suited for certain situations, taking into account fuel economy, accelleration, top speed etc

    also, is the PWR button any good?

    any help much appreciated

    Hey mate

    I'm not sure about different gears and fuel economy, my guess would be just stick it in drive and let the auto make the decision.

    All that the power button does is change the amount of throttle you need to apply for it to kick down. In power (PWR) mode the car will kick down gears with less throttle than if you are driving in economy.

    So in PWR mode the gearbox may kick down with only 40% throttle compared to 80% throttle in economy mode. Thats just an example of the principal don't know the exact numbers.
