worth upgrading air filter if im installing COI?

hey , i have a VS series 2 executive auto and im thinking about installing holden branded cold air intake,the same as the supercharged ecotecs have.
im on budget and was wondering if i leave the holden factory air filter in if it will hinder performance majorly? (just for now untill i have more spare cash ).

If its still decently clean it shouldn't affect it much.
