You have to drill the rivet holes. Just make sure you don't use a bit that's to big, and be careful not to hit the radiator when you've drilled through the shroud.
yeh i seen that, i may not have too at this point tho because the silicone is holding rock solid.
should hold up
im actually very suprised with the performance gain for such a small mod!
its one of the best mods, very cheap and easyits always good to hear members DIY, nice work
well with all the information provided on this forum ,,,, you just gotta do it yourself.
( not that CAI was difficult in anyway but damn it feels good too get it right!)
Did mine the other night and also did a memcalchange all for 200 bucks with a high flow panel filter. The ute goes hard now

i havent screwed mine down or glued it. It just sits there quite happily atm, hasnt moved over badly corrugated roads so i think i will leave it for now.
CAI: ok so wart kinds of performance gains are we going to see?
When I got my VR V6 wagon over 2 years ago, it would go around 250 to 280kms a tank before the low fuel light came on. Now with a Greenfoam chip, CAI and catback exhaust, I am regularly getting between 330 to 350kms before the low fuel light comes on.
I drilled the holes on the plastic bit on top of the radiator to fit the push rivets in. Put a metal plate between the plastic and the radiator to avoid drilling through.
Just remember that it will have to come off if you need a radiator repair.
I used trim plugs the one on the left is holden the one on the right after market holds the cai down better.
I got my radiator repaired so the top had to come off and I found out the plastic plugs are only good for one screw in so had to get new ones but they are cheap.
