i ask because i ripped a couple out at the wreckers today and they only way i could get too them was mangling things with a hammer.... haha , obviously when its time too upgrade mine i will need a more gentle approach so has anyone got a guide too getting too the memcal?
so its you that kills all the ecu's at the wreckers LOL do you mean the security panel over the ecu or getting it out the ecu there should be 2 screws on the ecu to remove the cover .as for the security panel if you have one you need to drill out the rivots at the bottom of the panel which is a mission they are super hard drill slow or you will melt drill bit afdter drill bit.

the problems not getting the box or extracting the ecu from the box, its all the bloody work getting too thebox in the first place . ( for the record i didnt kill any ecu`s :P)
i should clarify , the problem is removing the panels over the metal box .. once im there no problems.
Drill it out......Only simple way really.

You should be able to see one clip up under the glovebox, and then just pull it out with a bit of jiggling. I had the door sills out when I did mine that probably made it easier
Stocky: I think he is talking about the plastic kick panel itself?

The trim running across the bottom of the door has to be uncliped. Takethe rubber insert out and you have to squeeze it together there is a clip. Yes it is hard to do and frustrating but whenyou put a new chip in it will be worth it
